Abstract

Disclosed are: a microfiber which hardly causes the formation of beads and enables to produce a fiber aggregate having extremely high quality; and a method for producing the microfiber. Specifically disclosed are: a microfiber which comprises a resin having a nominal water content of 0.1 to 5.0%, contains a salt in an amount of 0.1 to 10% relative to the amount of the resin, and has an average fiber diameter of 0.01 to 1 μm; and a method for producing a microfiber, which comprises preparing a solution comprising a resin and an organic solvent, adding a salt to the solution, and spinning the solution by an electrostatic spinning method toproduce the microfiber.
