Abstract

Disclosed is a decomposition method characterized by decomposing a material of interest with a chemically bound titanium-silicon composite oxide which contains titanium, silicon and oxide chemically bound thereto and has an absorption peak appearing within the range from 650 to 990 cm-1 in an infrared absorption spectrum as measured by the infrared spectroscopy. The decomposition method can be applied to a method for decomposing an organic material, a method for removing an NOx, a deodorizing method, a method for removing a causal substance, an antifouling treatment method, a water droplet repellent treatment, a method for antisweat or antifogging treatment, and a harmful microorganism control method.
