Abstract

  小型化させ得るとともに材料効率を飛躍的に向上させることができるトルク検出器及び電動パワーステアリング装置を提案する。   連結軸を介して同軸に連結された第1及び第2の軸と、第2の軸に固定され、周方向に沿って多極着磁されたリング状の永久磁石と、第1の軸に固定され、永久磁石と共に磁気回路を形成するセンサヨークと、センサヨークを基準として永久磁石の軸方向反対側に配置され、永久磁石及びセンサヨークと共に磁気回路を形成する集磁ヨークと、センサヨーク及び集磁ヨークが誘導した磁束を検出する磁束検出器とを有し、第1の軸及び第2の軸のうちのいずれか一方に加えられたトルクを磁束検出器の出力に基づいて検出するトルク検出器であって、センサヨークを、同一又は略同一平面上に配置され、少なくとも一部が互いに分離して形成された複数のクローポールから構成するようにした。
