Abstract

本発明は、触媒成分と、触媒基材成分とを含み、かつ0.7~1.8g/cm3の密度を有することを特徴とする排ガス処理用触媒、及び、該排ガス処理用触媒を用いて排ガスを処理する方法に関する。触媒基材成分として、46~48kHz、34~36Wの超音波を55~65秒照射した後に、レーザー回折法で測定される平均粒子径が12~50μmであるTi-Si複合酸化物粒子等が原料に使用される。本発明の触媒は、軽量、かつ、十分な機会的強度および触媒性能を有する。また、本発明の触媒は、軽量であるため排ガス処理装置に不要な負担が少なく、その結果、装置の製造コストを低減できる。
