Abstract

An ultraviolet absorber which has excellent spectral absorption performance, does not color, gives excellent transparency, and is reduced in bleeding; an optical film containing the absorber and reduced in retardation fluctuation; and a polarizer and a liquid-crystal display each employing the film which are excellent in long-term light resistance and durability and retain a high contrast.
