Definitions
- the present invention concerns a frame adapted to house a pair of stereoscopic photographs and a stereoscopic display device, being able to adopt a first position, in which only one of the photographs of the couple is visible to be observed simply view, and a second position, in which both photographs are visible and can be observed by said stereoscopic display device.
- a photograph will be understood herein as an image printed by any means known in the sector on a laminar support and also a digital photograph shown on a screen, acting in support functions. In any case, a couple of photographs will always be used with appropriate shooting properties for stereoscopy.
- Stereoscopic display devices have been known for some time with which, looking with both eyes, two images of an object are seen, which, when melted into one, produce a sense of relief for being taken at a different angle for each eye, having provided for this purpose photographic machines equipped with double lens and double shutter, adapted to simultaneously take pairs of stereoscopic images that can be seen in relief by one of such stereoscopic display devices.
- the objective of the present invention is to incorporate a stereoscopic display device already known to a frame for photographs to be able to observe a photograph with a sense of relief, said frame preserving the typical properties thereof.
- Said frame is comprised of two supports to accommodate in each of them a photograph and a mirror located between said supports.
- the frame In a first position, the frame is folded, with the supports and the mirror arranged parallel to each other. At least one of the two photographs is visible in this position. While in a second position, the frame is open, with the supports joined by one end and forming a certain angle. The mirror is between these supports and forming the same angle for each of the two supports. The two photographs are thus placed on the side of the support corresponding to the mirror, to provide the relief effect.
- the mechanism to establish the first position and the second position can be variable, as long as they adapt to the conditions explained above.

- Said frame is in a first (closed) position, in which a first support 1 and a first photograph 3 are visible, said support 1 forming a box with space to locate a mirror 5, a second support 2 and a second photograph 4.
- Fig. 1 by means of a longitudinal section of the frame. In it you can see the first support 1, the mirror 5, the second support 2 and the second photograph 4, as well as hinge devices that allow the rotation of the second support 2 and the mirror 5.
- FIG. 3 shows the frame in the process of opening to achieve a second position.
- Both the second support 2 and the second photograph 4 and the mirror 5 have turned a certain angle with respect to a common axis 6, 7, and are stopped by the presence of a first stop
- Fig. 4 the frame positioned in said second position can be observed, where the mirror 5 is held from frictional resistive forces in a position defined by the first stop 9, while the second support 3 has rotated with respect to the common axis 6, 7 in the opposite direction to the previous rotation, until they are stopped by a second stop 9 '.
- Figs. 5 to 9 show a second embodiment of a mechanism that includes a sliding device, where each of the elements have associated pushing means, for example, a compressed spring or magnets positioned to repel, in order to transmit an impulse to both the second support 2 and the mirror 5.
- pushing means for example, a compressed spring or magnets positioned to repel
- Figs. 6 and 7 a frame is shown in a first position (folded), where the first support 1 contains inside it the mirror 5 and the second support 2.
- Fig. 8 the frame in the process of unfolding can be observed to reach A second position.
- the second support 2 slides along guides 11 located inside the first support 1 until the window 10 of the frame is cleared.
- a spring 14 drives the second support 2 by rotating it by a first axis 12 to a position delimited by a first stop 17 associated with the first support 1. In this way, the window 10 is cleared with this, which allows the mirror 5 to emerge through the window 10.
- a spring 15 rotates the mirror 5 around a second axis 13 until the second stop 18 associated with the first support 1.
- Figs. 10 and 11 show a variation of the embodiment shown in Figs. 6 to 9. Said variation consists in that only a single spring 20 and an optional part 21 are necessary to drive the second support 2 and the mirror 6 * and rotate them around the corresponding axes 12, '13.
- Figs. 12 to 15 show a third embodiment of a photo frame with stereoscopic display device.
- a frame is shown in a first position (folded), where on both sides of the frame a first and second supports 1, 2 can be observed respectively and a first and second photograph 3, 4 respectively.
- Said first and second supports 1, 2 and a mirror 5 are supported by a cylindrical support 22 with a circular base 23.
- the frame is observed in a second position, where the mirror 5 has on one side the first support 1 with the first photograph 3 and on the other side, the second support 2 with the second photograph 4, forming the same angle on both sides.
- This exemplary embodiment has the characteristic of the presence of a gear train 25 that allows relative movement between the first support 1, the second support 2 and the mirror 5.
- the first support 1 and the second support 2 have associated gears that allow a rotation with respect to the cylindrical support 22 to be positioned in a second position (Fig. 13).
- the mirror 5 has a linear displacement by means of a rack device 24 which allows it to be positioned in said second position.
- Fig. 14 shows the set of gears and gears that form the gear train 25 and that are in the cylindrical support 22 and in the circular base 23, to allow relative movement between the different parts of the frame.
- Fig. 15 the movement of each of said sprockets associated with the first and second support 1, 2 and the rack 24 associated with the mirror 5, to reach the second position of the frame.
- FIGs. 16 to 19 show a fourth example of realization of a frame for photographs with stereoscopic display device.
- a frame is shown in a first position (folded).
- the first and second photograph 3, 4, are arranged on the first and second support 1, 2 respectively, so that they are exposed and visible on the external part of the sides of the frame.
- first and second support 1, 2 are also linked together, articulated by means of an articulation arrangement 28 which allows to provide a rotational movement of said first support 1 and second support 2.
- Said articulation arrangement 28 comprises two rollers 28a, 28b among which the mirror 5 is trapped, which, when turned, is displaced emerging to the outside of the assembly.
- Figs. 17 and 18 show two stages in the process of opening the frame to reach a second position. As the articulation arrangement 28 moves along the length of the mirror 5, the angle formed between the arms 26a, 26b with the mirror 5 increases, until it reaches the position shown in Fig. 18, where the first support 1 and the second support 2 are arranged perpendicularly to the mirror 5.
- Fig. 18 shows two rollers 28a, 28b among which the mirror 5 is trapped, which, when turned, is displaced emerging to the outside of the assembly.
- Figs. 17 and 18 show two stages in the process of opening the frame to reach a second position. As the articulation arrangement 28 moves along the length of the mirror 5,
- FIG. 20 A variation of said embodiment can be seen in Fig. 20.
- said adjacent rollers 28a, 28b have a length greater than that of the supports 1, 2 so that each of the rollers adjacent 28a, 28b define two protruding parts 29a, 29b protruding from said supports 1, 2.
- Said protruding parts 29a, 29b of each roller 28a, 28b are serrated and engaged with each other, so that their movement allows the frames to be arranged towards a second opening position.
- the mirror 5 is between the two supports 1, 2 and slides between them.
- both supports 1, 2 there is also a pair of rollers, 30a, 30b, which, unlike rollers 28a, 28b, do not engage, and to establish the second position of the frame, they must move away as the angle between the supports 1.2 increases.
- Motion transmitting devices such as tapes 32, are arranged along the supports 1, 2 and are supported by said rollers 28a, 28b, 30a, 30b.
