Abstract

Provided is a rubbing cloth, which is suppressed in the generation of contaminants such as peeled fibers at a rubbing treatment time, which has fine and homogeneous orientation performances for achieving a high resolution of a liquid crystal display device and which is homogeneously controlled in its pushing pressure while contacting an orientation film, thereby to have an excellent orientation regulating force. The rubbing cloth has a woven-knitted fabric and an elastic element laminated and integrated.
