Abstract

 側面成形面を有するビーム整形素子等の光学素子を、溶融ガラス滴を加圧成形することによって高効率、且つ高精度に製造することができる光学素子の製造方法等を提供する。  上型、下型及び側面型を有する成形金型を用いて溶融ガラス滴を加圧成形することにより、上成形面、下成形面及び側面成形面を有する光学素子を製造する。先ず、下型の上に、溶融ガラス滴の中心部の高さが側面型の高さよりも高くなるように溶融ガラス滴を供給する。その後、供給された溶融ガラス滴を成形金型で加圧成形し、溶融ガラス滴の一部を側面成形面よりも外側に押し出して、成形金型に接触せずに形成された面を有するつば部を形成する。
