Abstract

In order to accelerate the drying and pyrolysis of raw material in a gasification furnace and to reduce the tar content of product gas, the gasification apparatus is built by inserting, in a lidded bottomed longitudinal gasification furnace (11), an input tube (15) for raw material charging into the gasification furnace (11) from upward. The gasification furnace (11) at its side wall portion is provided with multiple gasification material introduction ports (11v,11w,11x,11y,11z) for supply of the gasification material to the gasification furnace (11). At least one gasification material introduction port (11v) of these is provided so that it in the vertical direction is open toward a partial oxidation layer disposed under the input tube (15) inferiorly to the gasification material introduction port (11v) and in the horizontal direction is set in the direction tangent to the side wall portion.
