Abstract
There is used a molten salt electrolysis device (1) comprising a graphite inner container (20) for holding a molten salt (10), a graphite container (30) for containing the inner container (20), and a stainless-steel outer container (40) for containing the container (30). The inner container (20) is hermetically sealed by a graphite shielding plate (21), and the molten salt electrolysis device (1) is also provided with a chlorine feeding pipe (50) and an exhaust pipe (51) penetrating through the outer container (40) and the shielding plate (21). An anode (60) is arranged at the bottom of the inner container (20), and a cathode (61) is immersed so as to face the anode (60). The outer container (40) is also provided with an inert gas feeding pipe (52) for filling the inside of the outer container with an argon gas.
