Abstract

 本発明は、イリジウム等の白金族金属を含む廃棄物より、白金族金属を回収する方法であって、塩化ナトリウムからなる溶融塩中、又は、塩化ナトリウムと塩化カリウムとからなる溶融塩中で、廃棄物に含まれる白金族金属と塩素とを反応させ、水に易溶性の白金族金属の塩化物を生成した後、反応後の溶融塩を水に混合し、固液分離して白金族金属の水溶液を得る工程を含む白金族金属の回収方法である。ここでの溶融塩の組成は、塩化ナトリウムと塩化カリウムとからなる溶融塩であり、50mol%以上の塩化ナトリウムを含むものが好ましく、より好ましくは、75~90mol%の塩化ナトリウムと、10~25mol%の塩化カリウムからなるものである。
