Abstract

An induction heating cooking device is provided with a top plate (4) whereupon a cooking container (P) is to be placed, and a heating coil (6) which generates an induced magnetic field and heats the cooking container (P). The induction heating cooking device is also provided with an infrared sensor (10), which detects infrared rays emitted from the cooking container (P) through the top plate (4); a control means (24), which calculates the temperature of the cooking container (P) from output obtained from the infrared sensor (10) and controls power to be supplied to the heating coil (6) based on the calculated temperature; a filter (14), which is arranged above the infrared sensor (10) and blocks light having a prescribed wavelength or shorter; and a side wall (16) around the filter (14). Thus, the induction heating cooking device is prevented from being affected by irradiation of solar light (L) or the like, by covering the infrared sensor (10) with the filter (14) and the side wall (16).
