Definitions
- the present invention relates to a fluid dispenser head intended to be associated with or mounted on a fluid dispenser member, such as a pump or a valve.
- a fluid dispenser member such as a pump or a valve.
- Such dispensing heads are frequently used in the fields of perfumery, cosmetics or even pharmacy in combination with a pump or a valve for dispensing fluid products of very diverse viscosities.
- the dispensing heads generally comprise an outlet nozzle through which the fluid product is dispensed out of the head.
- the user can then collect the fluid product at this nozzle.
- nozzles are frequently used to ensure a distribution of fluid product, not sprayed, but on the contrary in the form of net, tape or hazelnut.
- it is advantageous that the nozzle at the same time ensures the preservation of the fluid product to be dispensed. It is thus already known to use the nozzle as a shutter.
- the nozzle may comprise an elastically deformable piece forming a fluid dispensing orifice in the form of a self-sealing slot comprising two edges in mutual sealing contact in the absence of fluid under pressure in the nozzle.
- the self-sealable slot can be made by incision of the elastically deformable part after molding. The slot remains closed at rest and opens only when fluid under pressure reaches the slot and spreads the two edges, thereby opening a dispensing orifice.
- first-use security Assuring the user that the dispenser has never been used before. It is already known to wrap the dispensing head with a film that the user will remove before the first use. When the dispensing head is in the form of an axially displaceable pusher, it is also known to block the moving the pusher using a ring that the user will tear before the first use. Adhesive tab systems adhered to the dispensing orifice are also used as first-use security. The present invention aims to ensure the early use of a dispensing head whose orifice is in the form of a self-sealing slot.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide this first-use security without the addition of additional parts. Of course, it is an object of the present invention to produce this dispensing head at a lower cost. Another goal is to prevent the user from having to remove an item that he will then discard. The object of the invention is to eliminate any removable element.
- the present invention proposes a fluid dispenser head intended to be associated with a fluid dispenser member, such as a pump or a valve, the head comprising an outlet nozzle through which the fluid product is dispensed out of the head, the nozzle comprising an elastically deformable part forming, in use, a fluid dispensing orifice in the form of a self-sealing slot comprising two edges in mutual sealing contact in the absence of fluid under the pressure in the nozzle, characterized in that the dispensing orifice is non-existent before the first use of the head.
- a fluid dispenser member such as a pump or a valve
- the part comprises a zone of weakness defining a slit primer capable of tearing under the pressure of the fluid product, the orifice being thus created by the pressurized fluid product during the first use of the head.
- the slit primer is formed by a local reduction in the wall thickness of the part. The pressurized fluid product that arrives at the slit primer will deform the workpiece until it breaks at the primer. The dispensing orifice is then created without the user having to intervene. As soon as pressure of the fluid product falls, the newly created orifice closes: more specifically, the two opposite edges of the newly created slot return to mutual sealing contact.
- the nozzle further comprises a tube on which the deformable part is mounted, the tube defining internally a channel is output fluid product.
- the head further comprises a body defining an internal conduit of fluid and a receiving housing for the tube so as to extend the conduit through the outlet channel of the tube.
- the body comprises a connecting sleeve intended to be connected to an output of an actuating rod of a dispensing member.
- the tube advantageously serves as a mechanical and fluidic connection element between the elastically deformable part and the body of the head.
- the tube serves as a support for the deformable part, and on the other hand the tube is inserted into the receiving housing of the body.
- the part comprises a front distribution wall forming the dispensing orifice after use and a fastening ring engaged around the tube.
- the room is entirely located outside the body.
- the part is overmolded on the tube.
- the part can be bi-injected with the tube in a single mold.
- the head further comprises a dressing cap in which the body is housed, the piece projecting laterally from the capsule.
- An interesting principle of the present invention is to use the elastically deformable part as first-use safety means by not forming the dispensing orifice so that it is closed before the first use of the head.
- the dispensing orifice of the invention is therefore characterized by its non-existence before the first use.
- FIG. 1 is a vertical cross-sectional view through a fluid dispenser head according to a first embodiment mounted on a dispensing member, the head being in its configuration before first use
- FIG. Figure 1 is a view of the nozzle of Figure 1 after first use
- Figure 3 is a view similar to Figure 2 for a nozzle according to another embodiment in its configuration before first use.
- the dispensing head is here in the form of a pusher intended to be mounted on the outlet of an actuating rod 52 of a dispensing member 5, which may be a pump or a valve.
- the dispensing member comprises a body 51 in which the actuating rod 52 is axially movable back and forth.
- the rod 52 protrudes out of the body 51 and internally defines a discharge pipe
- the dispensing head comprises a body 3 which is generally made by injection / molding of hard plastic material.
- the body 3 comprises a connecting sleeve 31 connected to the free end of the actuating rod 52. Internally, the body 3 defines a duct 32 which extends the duct 53 formed inside the rod 52. the body 3 forms a receiving housing 33 into which the duct 32 opens.
- the dispensing head also comprises an outlet nozzle which here comprises two constituent elements, namely an elastically deformable part 1 and a tube 2.
- the tube 2 has a generally cylindrical general configuration with a hollow interior forming an outlet channel 21 which extends the inner conduit 32 of the body 3.
- the tube 2 can be divided into two sections, namely an outer section 22 on which the deformable part 1 is mounted and an inner section 23 engaged inside the receiving housing 33.
- the section external 22 protrudes out of the receiving housing 33.
- the outer section 22 can be formed with external profiles promoting the attachment of the deformable part 1.
- the deformable part 1 comprises a front wall 11 which is located at the outlet of the channel 21 of the tube 2.
- the front wall 1 may be in contact with the tube 2 or away from it, as is the case in FIG. 1.
- the deformable part 1 comprises also a fixing ring 13 which is engaged around the outer section 22 of the tube 2. The fixing of the ring on the tube is favored by the presence of the attachment profiles of the outer section 22.
- the deformable part 1 can be overmolded on the tube 2, or alternatively, the part 1 and the tube 2 can be made by a bi-injection molding process.
- the piece 1 is made of a plastic material softer than the tube 2 which must be rigid. With overmoulding or bi-injection, the nozzle forms a bi-material unitary element that is easy to handle when assembling the head.
- the deformable part 1 is located entirely outside the receiving housing 33. However, it is not excluded that the part 1 can also extend inside the housing 33. It can even be expected that the part 1 enters the tube.
- the dispensing head also comprises a covering cap 4 which is generally made of metal.
- This covering cap 4 comprises an upper plate 41 which will serve as a bearing surface for the user's finger when it will exert a thrust force to actuate the dispenser member.
- the capsule 4 also comprises a lateral skirt 42 which extends downwards and completely masks the body 3.
- the skirt 42 defines a lateral opening 43 through which the tube 2 extends.
- the body 3 is inserted into force inside the capsule 4.
- the capsule 4 is even blocked on the body 3 by the tube 3 engaged inside the housing 33, since the tube 2 protrudes out of the housing and out of the opening 43 laterally outwardly. It may even be noted that the deformable part 1 is entirely located outside the capsule 4.
- the deformable part 1 is advantageously made of a flexible material, such as an elastomeric thermoplastic.
- the front wall 11 is formed with a zone of least resistance which is here in the form of a rupture primer 12. In FIG. 1, this primer
- Figure 1 shows the dispensing head of the invention before the first use.
- the front wall 11 is characterized here by the absence of dispensing orifice. Indeed, there is no outlet passage for the fluid product.
- pressurized fluid product will reach the front wall 11 from the conduits 53 and 32 and the channel 21.
- the fluid product will then exert a pressure at the level of the primer 12 which will yield to create a self-sealing slot that will serve as a dispensing orifice.
- Figure 2 shows the outlet nozzle, namely the part 1 and the tube 2, after first use.
- the slit primer 12 connects the outer surface of the wall 11 by a slot 10 defining two edges 101 and 102 which are in mutual sealing contact in the absence of fluid under pressure.
- the pressurized fluid product has therefore broken the wall 11 at the level of the primer 12.
- the nozzle performs a function quite conventional shutter with its self-seal slot.
- FIG. 3 shows an alternative embodiment in which the slit primer 12 'is in the form of a rectangular section slit. At the bottom of this groove, it can be provided a slight cut at which the wall 11 will break.
- the slot primer defines a local reduction in the thickness of the wall 11.
- the pressure of the fluid that creates the dispensing orifice is the pressure of the fluid that creates the dispensing orifice.
- the dispensing orifice is created by the user who will pierce, incise, tear or cut the front wall of the part 1. It can for example be imagined that the front wall forms a tongue that the user can seize everything on it and break the front wall along a predetermined line. The tongue remains secured to a flexible flap which closes the dispensing orifice sealingly at rest.
- the fact of mounting the deformable part on a tube, which itself is then mounted on the body of the head, is protectable in the evening.
- the deformable part may initially be provided with a dispensing orifice or not.
- a dispensing head comprising a seal at rest which serves at the same time as a first-use guarantee for the user.
