Abstract

The invention relates to a module for reading from a biochip on which fluorescent spots with biological information are situated. The module has a single for instance point-type radiating light-emitting diode as light source. An illumination channel for illuminating the biochip and a read-out channel for imaging the fluorescent spots onto a camera are separated from one another at least in regions by means of a dichroic mirror. The numerical apertures of the illumination channel and of the read-out channel are formed differently by the provision of a diaphragm in the read-out channel in the region between the dichroic mirror and the camera, wherein the numerical aperture in the read-out channel is smaller than that in the illumination channel. Furthermore, a filter for spectrally selecting the light of the light-emitting diode is arranged in the illumination channel, such that the fluorescent spots are only excited with light that differs from the fluorescent light in terms of the wavelength and can be filtered out simply in the read-out channel.
