Abstract

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Festkörperlasersystem mit einer longitudinalen Anregungskonfiguration sowie ein Verfahren zum Betreiben, wobei das Festkörperlasersystem die folgenden Merkmale aufweist: ein Lasermedium (1), welches in einem Laserresonator (5) angeordnet und aus einem laseraktiven Festkörpermaterial gebildet ist, eine Anregungsquelle (2) mit einer Laserdiodenanordnung, die konfiguriert ist, gepulste Anregungsstrahlen zu er zeugen, und eine Fasereinkopplungseinrichtung, die konfiguriert ist, die gepulsten Anre gungsstrahlen von der Anregungsquelle (2) entlang der optischen Achse des Laserresonators (5) in das Lasermedium (1) einzukuppeln, wobei die Laserdiodenanordnung ausgelegt ist, die gepulsten Anregungsstrahlen mit einer Impulsspitzenleistung von wenigstens 400 W abzugeben.
