Abstract

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Elektrolysevorrichtung zur Herstellung von Alkalimetall aus einer flüssigen Alkalimetall-Schwermetalllegierung (6) mit - mindestens zwei übereinander im Wesentlichen horizontal angeordneten, durch Verbindungsstutzen (3) miteinander verbundenen Rohren (1), die eine Elektrolyseeinheit (2) bilden, - zwei in jedem der Rohre (1) angeordneten, an einem Ende geschlossenen, an dem anderen Ende eine Öffnung (11) aufweisenden Festelektrolytröhren (12), die Alkalimetallionen leiten, wobei die Festelektrolytröhren (12) in dem Rohr (1) konzentrisch angeordnet und mit der Öffnung (11) je einem Ende des Rohrs (1) zugewandt sind, so dass sich ein erster Ringspalt (13) zur Führung der eine Anode bildenden flüssigen Alkalimetall-Schwermetalllegierung (6) zwischen der Innenseite des Rohrs (1) und der Außenseite der Festelektrolytröhren (12) befindet, - einem Legierungszulauf (8) und einem Legierungsablauf (9) für die flüssige Alkalimetall-Schwermetalllegierung (6) in jedem der Rohre (1), die zueinander horizontal beabstandet von oben beziehungsweise von unten in den ersten Ringspalt (13) eines Rohres (1) münden, - einem gegenüber dem Legierungszulauf (8), dem ersten Ringspalt (13) und dem Legierungsablauf (9) abgedichteten Innenraum (14) in jeder der Festelektrolytröhren (12) zur Aufnahme von dem als Kathode nutzbaren flüssigen Alkalimetall, der mit einem Alkalimetallablauf (15) verbunden ist und - je zwei Verschlussvorrichtungen (4), die an den zwei Enden jedes Rohres (1) angeordnet sind.
