Abstract

The invention concerns an aluminium alloy for a component having to exhibit high hot process mechanical resistance in the 230-430 °C temperature range consisting (in wt. %) of: Mg: < 0.5; Si: 8.0 - 13; Cu: 4.0 9.0; Ni: 1.0 4.0; Fe: < 1.0; Mn: < 1.0; Zn: < 1.0; V: < 0.3; Ti < 0.3; Zr < 0.05; P: 0.001 0.05; other elements < 0.15 each and < 0.30 in total, the rest being aluminium. More particularly, the invention concerns alloys for internal combustion engine pistons.
