Abstract

L'invention concerne un corps façonné, servant en particulier de source d'énergie primaire pour la production d'une masse fondue minérale devant être réduite en fibres pour fabriquer des matériaux isolants en fibres minérales, en particulier en laine minérale. Ce corps façonné est constitué d'une fraction carbonée à grains fins liée au moyen d'un liant, cette fraction carbonée présentant une grosseur de grain inférieure ou égale à 50 mm. L'objectif de l'invention est de perfectionner ce corps façonné de façon à éliminer ses inconvénients et à accroître en particulier sa résistance à l'usure et à la rupture. A cet effet, au moins 50 % en poids de la fraction carbonée présente une grosseur de grain inférieure ou égale à 25 mm de sorte que les éléments les plus gros forment une ossature de support tandis que les éléments les plus fins présentant une grosseur de grain inférieure ou égale à 25 mm remplissent les interstices, la fraction carbonée et le liant présentant une densité de tassement supérieure ou égale à 1250 kg/m3.
