Abstract

L'invention concerne un bloc refroidisseur fabriqué dans du cuivre lié à de l'acier pour outils. Une couche d'acier pour outils du bloc refroidisseur, présentant une épaisseur inférieure à 0,5 pouces, est présente sur la surface de joint du moule du bloc refroidisseur ou sur une face dudit bloc. Une couche d'acier pour outils peut être également présente sur une partie des côtés des blocs refroidisseurs et/ou au fond dudit bloc. Les blocs refroidisseurs de l'invention permettent la solidification du métal fondu dans le passage formé par une paire de blocs refroidisseurs, et ils permettent également une fabrication efficace d'objets au moyen de procédés de moulage sous pression.
