Definitions
- the invention relates to a training and rehabilitation aid facilitating the application of a broad spectrum of training methods and rehabilitation procedures.
- All movement of the human being is a result of a coordinated activity of the central nervous system and peripheral section of the musculoskeletal system, the muscles in particular.
- the external resistance may be e.g. the gravity equal to the weight of the human body, the reaction of a counter-pressure, resistance of the external environment when the body moves, resistance of another human being, object or the inertial force of other objects. All these factors affect the development of muscle abilities - both consciously (as a target, activity) performed within soort activities or other activities related to a person's daily, routine.
- a training and rehabilitation aid comprising of a. yielding body with a jacket.
- the yielding body is provided with at least one filling opening and the interior of the body is filled with a filling, which, in the interior of the body, takes a form corresponding to at least a part of the form of the interior of the body in dependence on space orientation of the body,
- the rehabilitation aid facilitates practically unlimited number of exercises. This exposes the whole human body to a load in all functional directions, and thus activates and develops all muscle groups. If the body of the aid is filled with the filling only partially, the training and rehabilitation aid functions as unstable load. Therefore, handling the aid during the workout requires a set of complicated movements made to balance the effects of the aid's force, the form of which varies.
- the design of the aid provides an instant and individual adjustment to the user's performance level..
- the training and rehabilitation aid is provided with a. filling opening that may be repeatedly closed and opened.
- a filling opening provides an easy filling or evacuation of the interior space, which is . makes. the aid portable and applicable anywhere and anytime.
- the filling opening also facilitates easy replacement of the filling as far as either the quantity or nature of the filling is concerned. It gives an opportunity to change entirely the properties of the aid in order to adjust it optimally to the chosen workout method.
- the jacket of the body is made of a material that is pliable and/or flexible. Such a jacket property allows folding the aid and storing it in a small container after the filling has been evacuated from the interior space, which makes the transportation very easy.
- the training and rehabilitation aid may be advantageously provided with at least one holder for a better aid grasp and handling.
- At least one of the holders may be connected to the jacket of the aid in an adjustable way.
- the jacket holder position is adjustable in relation to the centre of gravity of the aid body. This may alter the size and direction of the muscle force in order to reach the targeted workout of individual muscle groups in all directions.
- the interior space with air, optimally with compressed air.
- the filling when moving is exposed to the pressure of air, the volume of which may be selected so that the body could keep or change its form. This allows for changing, the workout regime as refers to qualitative changes and segment leyel, of ,the irivqlvement of exercised muscles.
- the aid may be used is filling ,the .interiqr ,spape ⁇ pr ⁇ at. ,l ⁇ st/ i a,;part.,of ⁇ it) witr ⁇ a filling comprising a liquid.
- the advantage is based,pn u eas,y .control, of; the weight, whereby the moving liquid activates higher-level ,wheri the movement direction is changed. This allows ;foj ⁇ t
- the draining and rehabilitation aid filled with water displays greater mobility and better furictionsxTtie filling may be evacuated in a while and filled ' ⁇ restored again. '-'The ' weight of the aid may be changed very quickly, which facilitates immediate individual adjustment to the required performance.
- Another advantageous option of the design involves a complete or partial filling of the interior with a filling comprising a loose material.
- the advantages are similar to those of the aid filled with a liquid.
- Concerning different mechanical and physical properties of the loose material including the internal friction, such an aid shows entirely different effects, the dynamic effects on the locomotor units in particular. This is more advantageous in a number of workout methods.
- Another;. esign , variety.' ; is based , on the fact ;that the .inner . fijling c of. f $heo r ⁇ id comprises-of small particles.
- Each of the above fillings transform the aid to another type of a workout id, the form of which is identical, however, its properties, includi.ng 1 b,ut n9 ( t limited to. those, dynamic properties, inertia effects and .other effects . are, entirely different and,- therefore, their impacts upon the locomotor systems , ⁇ l : ! the,;,trai ing person are different.
- the interior of the aid is divided by- at least one partition to separate , chambers.
- the position of the centre of gravity of the-aid may., be .changed , depending on the used workout method in order to make, this, , , ⁇ method e efficie ⁇ t ; . ;
- the body of the aid may occupy. the.f rni;, ⁇ f c ,a ,cy . lin ⁇ deri,,.g!obe.,.,prism, cube, bar-bell or an asymmetric body.
- the training and rehabilitation aid is made of a yielding material that may advantageously comprise any of the group of coated fibres: PES/PVC-Polymar Scrim, Plastel TE 45 1S, TE 50, TE 60. Another advantage is that parts of the training and rehabilitation aid made of such materials may be firmly welded or glued together, which makes them gas-proof or water-proof as required. After the filling has been evacuated, the jacket may be folded to a very small space.
- the body of the aid may be provided with an envelope showing a proper level of roughness providing the user with a better grasp.
- Fig. 1 shows an axonometric schematic presentation of the training and rehabilitation aid m its cylindrical form.
- Fig. 2 shows a scheme of the longitudinal section of the aid in its cylindrical form filled with a liquid filling.
- Fig. 3 shows a scheme of the detail of the filling opening.
- Fig. 4 shows a schematic section of the aid in its cylindrical form, the interior of which is divided by the partition membranes into several chambers filled with various fillings.
- FIG. 1 shows a schematic image of the aid in the form of a cylinder.
- the body 1 has a cylindrical jacket 2 made e.g. of a polyamide or coated fibre with holders 5 fixed on it.
- the body 1 is yielding, which means that after exposure of the jacket 2 of the body 1 to either dynamic or static external force, a part of the jacket 2 becomes curved. After the external force has disappeared the jacket 2 returns more or less quickly, and, in a bigger or smaller extent to its original form depending on the type of filling 6 of the interior 4 and depending on the pressure of the air above the filling 6 in the empty part 8 of the interior 4 of the body 1.
- the body 1 is hermetically closed on the frontal side, meanwhile the other frontal side is provided with a filling opening 3.
- the filling opening 3 is designed as a valve that can be repeatedly closed and released. This allows filling/evacuating the interior 4 with ,tb.e filli g , ,and; adjusting its weight or- air. pressure.iin the, empty. part : . ⁇ pf n f ⁇ e ; interipr ⁇ ; 4> - he. filling .6., may be e ; g. ; a . liquid, the weight ..
- the body 1 may be enclosed to a fabric envelope made of a po!yami.de or other, firm fabric of a cylindrical form, locked by a Velcro fastener.
- The, :filling opening 3 may be designed as an opening in the frontal side of the body 1 and it may be. closed using a Velcro fastener as shown in Fig. 3.
- Such a configuration is advantageous when filling the interior 4 of the body 1 with a loose filling 6, e.g. with sand or small particles, e.g. lead shot.
- the body 1 designed as a cylinder has an advantageous length of 0.7 m and a diameter- ranging from 0.2 to 0.3 m. The same dimensions are advantageous for the body 1 designed as a prism. If the body 1 was designed as, a globe,-, it is advantageous to have its diameter around 0.3 m. However, the body 1 ..may be designed as an asymmetric form.
- Fig. 4 shows a schematic section of the aid in its cylindrical form, the interior 4 of which is divided by partitions 7 to several chambers 9 filled with different fillings 6.
- the fillings . 6 may vary as to the type and weight. Such a difference may be used to control properly the position of the centre of gravity of the body 1 and, thus, the resulting effects of the aid upon the training person.
- the jacket 2 of the body 1 may be manufactured of coated fabrics PES/PVC - Polymar Scrim or Plastel TE 45 1S, TE 50,. TE 60, or any other fabrics ensuring a long-term tightness in relation to loose materials and/or liquids and/or gases. Should the training and rehabilitation aid be designed as a cylinder, it is advantageous for the length of the cylinder if it does not exceed approx. 0.8 m with the diameter of approx. 0.3 m.
- the training and rehabilitation aid is suitable either for training of top sportsmen, or people who wish to train just to improve their physical condition, for rehabilitation purposes, or to minimize locomotor problems resulting from civilisation diseases.
- a variable load represented by the training and rehabilitation aid allows application of any training method.
