Abstract

The aim of the invention is to allow a user to automatically and permanently monitor and assess series of numbers and data that said user can collect via the web. Said aim is achieved by a data monitoring system (10) which is installed on a web server (1) and is characterized by the following: the source data collected by the user is supplied to the system via the web; the user can individually stipulate an observer definition for the collected and supplied source data in the system, said observer definition representing criteria for specific constellations of said data to occur; and the system recognizes and reports to the user an occurrence of the constellation of the source data, which is determined by the monitoring definition.
