Abstract

The invention relates to an iron which is characterised in that the inclination angle of the heating plate (1) varies between 24° and 26° with respect to the horizontal plane and the counterweight in the rear part of the iron, said counterweight depending on the weight of the materials used to produce the iron. The aforementioned heating plate (1) terminates in a non-sharp point (11). The steam system is activated automatically when the iron is in use by means of an automatic button (6) bearing a spring (22) which is disposed in the lower, rear part of the iron and which unblocks the steam outlet when released. In order to deactivate said system, the hand is simply removed from the iron and the button (6) is pressed once again under the weight of said iron, thereby compressing the spring (22) and blocking the passage of the steam.
