Abstract

At the release tab (13) of a portable fire extinguisher, designed to be pulled to free the striking knob, an indicator (15) is mounted to the trigger fitting or its cladding (4). It is loosely attached to the tab so that, when the tab (13) is pulled, the indicator (15) springs away from the cladding (4) or the connection fitting. The indicator (15), when in place, has projections which grip back at the mounting position. The release tab engages beneath striking knob, and the indicator is located on the lower side of the release tab a distance from the knob.
