Abstract

The invention relates to a frame-less spectacles device where the bridge (2) and the pivots or similar (31), for the arms (3), are fixed directly to the lenses (1) or to the above with a frame. The bridge (2) comprises at least three pieces (20, 4), two of which (4) are for rigid connection to a lens (1), whilst the third (20) can be fixed to each of the two others (4) by means of a reversible fixing means. Each arm (3) comprises at least two pieces, a first piece (5) for rigid fixing to the lens (1) and a second piece (30), connected to the arm (3) for fixing to the first piece (5) by means of a reversible fixing means.

Description

GLASSES DEVICE

The present invention relates to a spectacle device.

Traditionally, the lenses of a pair of glasses are mounted embedded in a frame which can be made of metal or plastic or the like.

With the aim initially of gaining weight and economy, then later of aesthetics, it has been proposed to reduce the dimensions of the frame. Initially the straps in which the glasses are embedded have been totally or partially removed, so that the arms and the trigger guard are secured directly to the glasses. The attachment to the glasses of the trigger guard and of the branches, or more precisely of the pivots of the latter, is carried out by means of screws, screwed after drilling, either in the edge, or in one or other of the f ces of said glasses. Note that some also use collage.

These advances in frame, however, have a price, so the glasses that benefit are generally reserved for relatively affluent customers. In this case it is difficult to envisage the possibility for each of them to have several pairs of glasses, of high quality of manufacture, having different aesthetics.

The object of the present invention is to remedy this deficiency, by proposing a device for glasses allowing everyone the possibility of having several glasses frames.

The spectacle device according to the invention is of the type without strapping where the trigger guard and the pivots or the like of the branches are fixed directly on the lenses, or with strapping, and it is essentially characterized in that on the one hand said trigger guard is composed at least three pieces, two intended to be each secured to a glass, while the third is capable of being secured to each of the other two by means of a reversible fixing means; and on the other hand, each of said branches comprises at least two parts, a first part intended to be fixedly fixed to the glass, and a second part, linked to the branch, capable of being fixed to said first part by means of reversible fixing means.

The use of reversible fixing means for securing the lenses to the rest of the frame, namely the trigger guard and the arms, makes it possible for a user to envisage having a set of several different parts, and / or lenses of different shapes, so as to authorize the construction by said user of glasses of different aesthetics.

The basic composition could thus include two pairs of glasses each comprising two glasses, two arms and a trigger guard, so as to allow the construction of eight logical pairs of glasses, and many others more fanciful.

By multiplying the number of sets of two branches and a trigger guard, and possibly the number of glasses of different shapes, we can create many pairs of different glasses, with a relatively small number of pieces.

The assembly can be carried out by the optician, who can thus offer a large choice of pairs of glasses while limiting his stocks, or by the user himself if he has opted for a set of several different pieces.

According to a particular embodiment of the device according to the invention, the pivot of each of the branches is secured to the piece secured to the glass and intended to receive said branch. According to a particular embodiment of the device according to the invention, one of the parts to be secured to another part comprises a projecting element substantially in the form of a cylinder with an axis parallel to the general plane of a glass, while said other part comprises a cavity of complementary shape intended to accommodate said element, said cavity being associated with a stop means capable of limiting the depth of penetration.

Preferably, but not essential, each of the reversible fixing means is associated with means capable of locking the socket, which may consist of a latching means.

According to another particular embodiment of the device according to the invention, the pivot of each of the branches is integral with the latter.

According to another additional characteristic of the device according to the invention, the reversible fixing means consist of concordant interlocking shapes.

According to a variant of the device according to the invention, the reversible fixing means from one part to another are such that one of said parts can pivot relative to the other at a certain angle, so that an angular position authorizes the assembly, while another angular position creates the locking of this assembly.

The reversible fixing means can thus be of the bayonet type, that is to say that they comprise means capable of cooperating with each other according to the angular position of each other, whether for the attachment of the trigger guard to the glasses, or whether it is for the attachment of the branches. It will be noted that the pivot axis of a part relative to the other can be merged with the pivot axis of the branch, so that, preferably, the angular position authorizing the disassembly of the two parts is different from the extreme opening and closing of said branches.

According to another additional characteristic of the device according to the invention, the parts fixed to the glasses each consist of a block having a rebate intended to cooperate with the edge of the glass, said block being fixed by means of at least one screw.

Furthermore, advantageously, the trigger guard comprises at the rear and downwards two extensions each provided at the end with an articulated or non-articulated fin, constituting a nasal support.

It will also be noted that provision may be made to add to the device according to the invention, strapping elements attached to the edge of the glasses. These elements, which can be made of different materials, and be of different colors and shapes, are intended to cover the upper part of the edge of the glasses or the lower part, or both.

The fixing of these elements is preferably carried out by their ends, on the integral parts of the glasses, and / or on the trigger guard and the branches.

The advantages and characteristics of the device according to the invention will emerge more clearly from the description which follows and which relates to the appended drawing, which represents several non-limiting embodiments.

Referring to Figure 1, one can see a spectacle device according to the invention. It traditionally comprises two glasses 1 connected to each other by a trigger guard 2, and two branches 3 of which only the end can be seen.

With reference also to FIG. 2, it can be seen that, according to the invention, the trigger guard 2 comprises a transverse piece 20 connected to each of the glasses 1 by means of an intermediate piece 4 fixedly fixed to the glass 1.

In the embodiment shown, the intermediate parts 4 are each in the form of a block comprising a rebate 40 intended to cooperate closely with the edge 10 of the glass 1, this assembly being completed by the screwing of, preferably, two screws 41 superimposed, only one of which is visible.

The assembly of the transverse part 20 of the trigger guard 2 to the intermediate parts 4 is carried out by fitting elements of complementary shapes. Thus, of the transverse part 20 comprises at each of its ends a flat wall 21 from which projects an element 22 of generally cylindrical shape with an axis parallel to the general plane of the glasses 1, while each of the intermediate parts 4 comprises in its part extreme opposite to that secured to the glass 1, behind a flat wall 42 intended to come into contact with the wall 21, a cylindrical cavity 43 of complementary shape opening in the wall 42, so as to allow the tight fitting of element 22 in cavity 43.

It will be noted that the cavity 43 is not through, it comprises a bottom 44 located in the upper part of the element 4, this bottom 44 constituting the insertion stop of the element 22.

It will also be noted that, in FIG. 1, the trigger guard 2 has two extensions 23 below, each equipped at the end of a fin 24, in order to constitute a nasal support.

Referring now to FIG. 3, it can be seen that, according to the invention, each of the branches 3 is connected to a glass 1 by means of an intermediate piece 5 fixedly fixed to the latter.

In the embodiment shown, as for the intermediate parts 4, the intermediate part 5 is in the form of a block comprising a rebate 50 intended to cooperate closely with the edge 10 of the glass 1, this assembly being completed by screwing preferably two overlapping screws 51, only one of which is visible.

As for the parts 4, the assembly of a branch 3 to an intermediate part 5 is carried out by interlocking of elements of complementary shapes. Thus, the intermediate piece 5 comprises at its end a flat wall 52 from which protrudes an element 53 of generally cylindrical shape with an axis parallel to the general plane of the glasses 1, while the branch 3 comprises, in its end connection part, a block 30 housing a hinge or the like 31 and having laterally, behind a flat wall 32 intended to come into contact with the wall 52, a cylindrical cavity 33 of complementary shape opening in the wall

32, so as to allow the tight fitting of the element 53 in the cavity 33. The cavity 33 is not through, it has a bottom 34 which constitutes the insertion stop of the element 53.

It will be noted that in the embodiment shown the hinge 31 is fixedly fixed to the branch 3, it could however be fixedly fixed to the intermediate piece 5.

It will be noted that the cylindrical shape of the elements 22 and 53, and of the cavities 43 and 33, can be replaced by others, frustoconical so as to produce an assembly of the Morse cone type, or in dovetail for example.

The transverse part 20 of the trigger guard 2 bears on the nose by means of the fins 24 and extensions 23, while the glasses 1 bear on the trigger guard via the bottoms 44 of the cavities 43, and that the branches 3 are in support, through the funds 34 of the cavities

33, on glasses 1. Fixing by fitting may therefore be sufficient insofar as the machining operations are precise. However, it may be necessary to complete the interlocking with a locking device, which may consist of a simple snap-on of complementary reliefs or a ball indexing.

It will also be noted that the glasses 1 can be further dressed by elements 11 and 12, visible in FIG. 1, intended to be attached to the edges 10, respectively above or below.

It is thus perfectly possible to use the same technology for glasses with rim, that is to say with non-pierced glasses.

Referring now to Figures 4a and 4b, we can see a variant of the device according to the invention, in particular as regards the interlocking parts.

We can thus see a part 6 assembled to a part 7, by fitting a cylindrical part 60 of the part 6 into a cylindrical cavity 70 of the part 7, knowing that the parts 6 and 7 may consist of a branch, a trigger guard or one of the intermediate parts 4 and 5.

The cylindrical part 60 has a lug 61 projecting from its wall 62, while the wall 71 which delimits the cavity 70 has a longitudinal groove 72 opening into a partial peripheral groove 73, these grooves having dimensional characteristics allowing them to accommodate the 'pin 61.

The part 60 is therefore intended on the one hand to be introduced axially into the cavity 70, the lug 61 being inserted into the groove 72, then on the other hand to pivot so that the lug 61 penetrates into the groove 73, so that the axial withdrawal of the part 60 is impossible.

There is thus obtained a blocking and a locking of the two parts 6 and 7, the locking being able to be completed by external abutment means, the absence of games, snap-fastening means produced between the moving parts.

In the embodiment shown, the groove 73 allows a pivoting of 90 °, so that one or the other of the parts 6 and 7 is a branch 3, while the other consists of an intermediate piece 5, the two extreme positions corresponding to the two positions of a branch, namely open and closed.

Note that in the example shown, the separation of the two parts 6 and 7 is only possible in an extreme pivoting position on the one hand relative to the other, which can be detrimental to assembly if the one of the two positions corresponds, as has just been mentioned previously, to a usual position.

Also, as is clear from FIG. 5, it is possible that the angular position of one part with respect to the other does not correspond to any of these extreme positions. To this end, the peripheral groove 74 intended to receive the lug during the axial pivoting, extends on either side of the longitudinal groove 72.

These different variants of the device according to the invention can take different forms, it is thus possible to use several lugs, whether it is the part 60 which has one or more grooves, while the lug (s) protrude towards the inside of the cavity.

Figure 6 shows us a particular embodiment of parts 8 and 9 intended to be nested one inside the other. The part 9, which can consist of the end of a branch, comprising a retentive cavity 90, more than semi-cylindrical, while the part 8, which can be fixed to the glass, comprises a cylindrical element 80 capable of being inserted in the retentive cavity 90 and being able to pivot therein, the locking being provided by a combination of lugs 91 and grooves 81.

It will be noted that it is perfectly possible to complete this assembly by indexing means, for example a lug projecting below and axially from the element. cylindrical 80, and intended to cooperate with an orifice made in the base of the part 9 axially to the cavity 90.

Claims
