Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a new control that, coupled as a peripheral to a PC, to a console or similar, allows the implementation of any of the existing golf games on the market, or others that may appear in the future and that admit the same operating coordinates as the current ones.
  • the object of the invention is to achieve a control that faithfully reproduces the action of a "swing” or movement of the club to hit the golf ball, providing reliable information regarding the speed of the club and the angle of the club face in the moment of impact on the ball, to the personal computer (PC) in which the golf game in question is being developed.
  • PC personal computer
  • the display shows an acceptable representation of a golf course, as well as an acceptable representation of the "swing” or movement of the club to hit the golf ball made by the player, there is no doubt that making such "swing” or movement of the club to hit the golf ball, with a mouse or a joystick leaves much to be desired, in this imitation of a real game.
  • the command for golf video games that the invention proposes solves in a fully satisfactory manner the above-mentioned problem, by allowing the player to participate in the video game in exactly the same way as he would in a real game, that is, using a golf club And a ball
  • the aforementioned stick will incorporate, duly in solidarity with its head, a magnetic strip, capable of acting on a sensor module at the moment in which the impact on the ball occurs, so that said sensor module is in turn capable of measuring both the velocity of the clubhead and the angle thereof at the time of its impact on the ball.
  • the sensor module will incorporate, as sensors themselves, a plurality of electromagnetic coils, preferably in the number of three, that when passing the magnetic strip associated to the head of the stick, generate voltages that are supplied to a measuring module, where they are properly amplified and compared with a reference signal and that, once the golf club has exceeded all the coils of the sensor module, they are sent to the PC where, with the collaboration of a suitable and complementary software, the data is interpreted to interact with the game and, specifically, so that a hit similar to that physically performed through the command of the invention occurs in it.
  • a socket (1) for correct positioning of the golfer participates in the command, specifically so that it is properly positioned before a sensor module (2), which will be discussed below, plinth (1) whose existence is optional and that can be materialized in a piece injected in plastic, covered with a mat, for example dimensions of 0.75 x 0.75 meters, enough for a person to stand on it to perform the "swing" or movement of the club to hit the golf ball.
  • An artificial grass mat will cover said support plate hiding all the mechanisms of the sensor module with the exception of said "Tee”.
  • Both the ball and the "Tee” are attached to the sensor module (2), by example by means of a rope, so that when the "swing” or movement of the club to hit the golf ball occurs, they do not disperse with respect to said module.
  • the coils (3) of the sensor module (2) are excited when the golf club head passes over them, thanks to the existence in the latter of a magnetic strip or ferrite that must be placed in the lower part of the head of the stick or its lateral face, arranged parallel to the active face thereof, with adhesive on its north pole for its attachment to the head of the stick, magnetic strip that must be flexible and anisotropic.
  • the sensor module (2) provides information, through a shielded cable (4) to a measuring device (5), fed from the network by means of a cable (6), with a power circuit to transform the mains voltage to the working voltage of the entire control, of the order of 5 volts in direct current, said meter (5) also having an amplification stage, a comparator circuit and a microprocessor, as well as a serial communication cable (7) with the PC (8) in which the game of golf is being developed.
  • the amplification stage is responsible for receiving the analog signals from the coils (3) of the sensor module (2) and amplifying them properly so that they can be compared with reference signals in the comparator circuit. If the amplified signal exceeds a certain threshold value, the comparator sends a signal to the microprocessor. Logically there will be three comparators, one for each coil (3) and, depending on the three signals received by the microprocessor by one of its ports according to the program, send the time data to the PC (8) by the cable
