Abstract

L'invention concerne une méthode pour détecter une activité d'une enzyme, la COX-2, chez un sujet, ladite méthode consistant à : prélever un échantillon chez le sujet ; détecter la présence d'un métabolite d'eicosanoïdes d'acides aminés dans l'échantillon, la présence d'un tel métabolite indiquant l'activité de la COX-2 du sujet. De préférence, le métabolite d'eicosanoïdes d'acides aminés est un métabolite de PGH2-Gly ou HETE-Gly. Ce métabolite peut être détecté sur la base du métabolisme d'un substrat sélectif de la COX-2. De préférence, ce substrat est un acide lipoaminé. Mieux encore, l'acide lipoaminé est sélectionné parmi la NAGly, la N-arachidonyl-alanine, et l'acide δ-arachidonyl-aminobutuyique.
