Abstract

The invention relates to a method for treating waste, a device and compositions for carrying out said method. According to the invention, a method containing fermentable organic matter, microorganisms and non-fermentable matter successively comprises the following operations: A) partial degradation of the fermentable organic matter of the waste placed in a first closed, ventilated container (2) as a result of the action of microorganisms contained in the waste, B) transfer of the products obtained from operation A) into a second container (9) which is preferably closed, the products transferred into said container being kept in contact with a strong base.
