Abstract

La toupie gigogne décrite se caractérise en ce qu'elle est constituée de deux éléments extérieurs : l'un supérieur en forme de couvercle, dont la forme ressemble à celle d'une calotte sphérique dont le pôle s'emboîte, en bas-relief, dans une zone discoïde fixée à un bouton universel qui impulse l'ensemble par inertie cinétique au moyen d'un ressort en retrait, de façon à le faire tourner ; et un autre inférieur auquel elle est fixée au moyen d'une collerette périphérique en forme conique inversée présentant des cannelures circonférentielles périphériques ou lisses et parallèles entre elles ou lisses. Ledit couvercle et ladite partie inférieure sont creuses à l'intérieur, ce qui facilite l'introduction de toupies intermédiaires de forme conique, chacune étant plus petite que la précédente et extérieure, jusqu'à ce que le creux soit rempli. Lorsque la toupie décrite est lancée par le bouton ou éventuellement au moyen d'une ficelle enroulée autour de la périphérie de son tronc conique, au moment de se libérer soit par inertie soit par l'impact au sol, le couvercle supérieur saute, ce qui facilite l'expulsion de l'ensemble de toupies logées à l'intérieur. Ainsi, toutes les toupies et même le couvercle, qui est pourvu d'un téton central, tournent solidairement avec le corps extérieur et indépendamment de celui-ci dans le même sens.
