  • the invention generally relates to a modesty protector, and more particularly, to a modesty protector for providing visual and physical contact protection of a user's private areas on the body during for example physical contact activities between the user and an another person providing a service requiring physical contact such as full body massage, medical treatment, medical examination arid the like.
  • the private areas of the client/patient are areas of the body that would likely cause embarrassment to the client/patient and service provider if such a contact was accidentally or inadvertently made. These areas include the male or female bottom or genital areas and the female chest area of the patient/client.
  • the masseur or masseuse service provider usually massages the client (masagee) with the hands, rubbing oil onto the body of the masagee.
  • Masagees typically wear either no garments or only their undergarments. While undergarments such as briefs may protect private areas from view when dry, when the undergarments absorb massage rubbing oil, the private areas usually become visually exposed. Additionally, brassieres even when dry may expose the private area of the female chest from different angles because the brassiere may not be properly secured to the chest. Also, nipples may be visible through brassieres.
  • the massager usually requires close contact with the masagee's private areas. Due to the nature of the oil, and the force used by the massager's hands during massage techniques, the massager may inadvertently contact the masagee's private areas. With certain massage techniques, such as female front body chest massage, contact with a masagee's private area may be almost inevitable.

  • the pair of briefs shown in FIG. 1 -4 and 9 is a unisex shape and desig n of brief that may be worn by a man or a woman. It will be appreciated that the features of these embodiments may be incorporated in any other design of brief or brassiere.
  • the top part of the brief may be a single layer of brief material 12, and may be any type of material such as cotton, silk, flax, synthetic fibers such as polyester, polypropylene, nylon, lycra, spandex, or various blends of natural and synthetic fibers such as polyester and cotton.
  • the material is a blend of polyester and cotton, such that the material also absorbs excess oil.
  • the brief material may also be stretchlastic or resilient material.
  • the brief material may also be configured as a single piece of material or with different materials configured together.

  • the material for the waist retention means 14 bordering the user's abdomen along edge 32,33 may be larger than the leg retention means 13 bordering the user's legs along edges 31.
  • the elastic material of the waistline retention means 14 may be approximately, for example, 30-40 inches (76-100 cm) in length and approximately 1/8 th to 3/8 th inch (3 to 9 mm) in width, and the elastic material of the leg retention means 13 may be approximately 20 inches (51 cm) in length and approximately 1/8 th inch (3 mm) in width.
  • the retention means 13, 14 may be covered by brief material 12, and stitched as indicated by stitching 16 shown in dashed lines.
  • the retention means 13, 14 have an elasticity that is suitable to ensure that the brief remains in contact with the body of the user.
  • the lower part of the brief is padded with modesty protector pad 20, that may be thicker than the brief material 12.
  • the pad is to protect the private areas of the user from being seen or felt by other people while the user wears the modesty protector.

  • the modesty pad 20 is shown to cover the gusset area of the brief. In this configuration, the modesty pad protects the genital area and buttock area of the user from view and physical contact.

  • the modesty protector may be machine washed and re-worn and used, such that any oil stains may be removed .
  • the modesty protector may be made from stretchable material to comfortably fit many different sizes of people. Additionally, the bra and the brief may be made available in a range of colours.
  • the modesty protector may be worn over the panties or underwear, or the modesty protector may be worn on the bare skin during massage sessions, for example.
  • FIG. 5 and 6 a modesty protector brassiere or bra 50 of an embodiment of the invention is shown.
  • the bra 50 may comprise bra material 52, bra retention means 54, modesty protector pad 60, pad securing means 55, fastening means 81 such as straps 80 and clasps 82 and hoops 84.

  • the bra covers the private area of the female chest, such that the edge 74 of the bra borders the superior area 88 of the user's chest, and the edge 76 borders the inferior area 86 of the user's chest.

  • the material of the pad may be the same material or materials as discussed above with respect to the brief pad 20. Stretch towelling is preferred due to the ranging chest sizes of women.
  • the bra material 52 may be the same material as the brief material 12 as discussed above. Stitching 16 is shown in dashed lines in FIG. 5-7 with respect to the bra 50, as in FIG. 1 -4 with respect to the brief 10.
  • the securing means 55 of the bra pad 60 may be stitching 16, and of course, it may be the same stitching 16 that is used to secure bra retention means 54 in the bra material 52.
  • the stitching may also be stitched around the base of the breast cups 58,59, as shown in FIG. 7.
  • the bra retention means 54 may be the same as waist and leg retention means 13, 14 as discussed above for the brief.
  • the retention means 54 of the bra may encircle the entire front portion of the bra 50 including the bra pad 60. With this configuration, the retention means 54 ensures that the bra 50 remains in contact of the inferior 86 and superior 88 chest areas of the user.
  • the dimensions of the bra pad 60 are shown.
  • the length of the bra pad 60 is shown by dashed line 5 may be custom fit for the specific user chest size, for example the length may be approximately 14 inches (36 cm).

  • the bra pad 60 may be any shape, size or design sufficient to cover the private chest area of the user. For example, single and separate pads may be used for each breast cup 58,59.
  • the fastening means may be two hoop/clasp 82,84 system shown, or may be any type of fastening means sufficient to ensure that the modesty protector bra 50 remains in contact with the user. Any number of fastening means may be used, and the fastening means 81 may have any type of design, such as shoulder straps, and the like.

Abstract

Dans un mode de réalisation, l'invention concerne un slip ou un soutien-gorge (10, 50) de protection d'intimité destiné à protéger les parties intimes d'un utilisateur, comprenant un matériau de vêtement (12, 52); une garniture de protection d'intimité (20, 60) fixée audit matériau de vêtement; et des moyens de retenue (13, 14, 54) destinés à retenir ce matériau de vêtement sur le corps de l'utilisateur, la garniture étant positionnée de façon à empêcher une autre personne de voir ou de toucher les parties intimes d'un utilisateur.
