Abstract

A liquid crystal display cell in which a pair of substrates at least one of which has a transparent electrode consisting of a transparent electrode film, a transparent electrode protective film, and an orientation film successively laminated thereon is disposed at a predetermined interval so that the transparent electrodes face each other, a liquid crystal is sealed in a space between the pair of substrates with transparent electrodes, and the space at the peripheral portion is tightly sealed with sealant. The surface resistance of a sealed part formed of the hardened sealant is in a range of 1010 to 1013 Ω/□. This liquid crystal display cell has excellent characteristics that any display unevenness, visible defects, etc. do not occur.
