Abstract

The invention relates to a preparation of propolis water extract and a water-soluble propolis powder. The invention can be used in medicine, pharmacology, perfumes-cosmetic and the food industry. The method for preparing the propolis water extract consists in the following: the raw propolis undergoes extraction of mineral salts with the aid of a water solution. In the process of extraction, electric current passes through said solution by means of two electrodes. One of the electrodes, the cathode, is made of silver. The 0.5-4.0 g of raw propolis is applied to 1cm2 of the surface of the silver electrode. The electric current passes through the silver electrode during 3-6 hours with an energy-flux density of (1.5-18.0)x 103 A/cm2. The silver electrode subsequently treated with propolis is replaced by an electrode with a clean surface through which the electric current passes once more. The propolis water extracts are cooled. The propolis concentration in the water solution is increased by repeated charging of the raw propolis and by current transmission. The elimination of water from the propolis extract results in the water-soluble propolis powder. The propolis water extract with concentration of less than 2 mas. % can be used as a drink.
