Definitions
- the present invention relates to a brush, in particular a toothbrush, with a brush head carrying bristle filaments, a brush body and a neck region arranged between the brush head and the brush body.
- a brush of this type is generally known, for example from DE 39 23495, which goes back to the applicant.
- the brush head is elastically supported relative to the brush body. If the toothbrush is subjected to excessive bending stress, the brush head can spring back accordingly. This prevents injury to the gums or the sensitive oral mucosa by the brush body in the event of excessive contact pressure.
- the present invention has for its object to provide a simple, inexpensive to produce brush with which an improved cleaning effect can be achieved.
- the brush mentioned at the outset is further developed according to the invention in that the brush head is pivotally mounted in the neck region of a plane which is essentially at right angles to the bristle filaments.
- the brush according to the invention allows the brush head to pivot relative to the brush body in a plane which is essentially perpendicular to the bristle filaments.
- the axis of the pivoting movement thus extends essentially parallel to the bristle filaments.
- the pivoting movement of the brush head relative to the brush body is stored in the form of elastic expansion, so that the angular adjustment of the brush head relative to the brush body during the brushing of the teeth to produce a further relative movement of the brush head, which is preferable with regard to the cleaning effect the brush body relaxed when relieved.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective side view of a first embodiment, which is designed here as a toothbrush,
- Fig. 2a is a plan view of the underside of a second embodiment, which is also designed as a toothbrush, in a first position of the brush head and
- FIG. 2b shows the representation shown in Fig. 2a in a second position of the brush head.
- FIG. 1 shows a toothbrush consisting of a brush body 1 and a brush head 2, the bristle surface 2 a of which is formed on the top by bristle filaments 3 which are held on the brush head 2.
- a neck region 4 is formed between the brush body 1 and the brush head 2.
- the neck region 4 comprises two articulated arms 5 arranged mirror-symmetrically to the longitudinal axis of the brush.
- the two articulated arms 5 each consist of an elongated base 5a extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the brush and an outwardly bent end region 5b which is arranged in each case adjacent to the brush body 1.
- the two webs 5 form the neck region 4 essentially Y-shaped.
- the ends of the articulated arms 5 are connected on the one hand to the brush head 2 and on the other hand to the brush body 1 via film hinges, not shown.
- the film hinges have a thickness that is substantially less than the thickness of the articulated arms 5 and extend as elongated, essentially plate-shaped components parallel to the longitudinal extension of the bristle filaments.
- the articulated arms 5 are articulated with respect to the brush body 1 and with respect to the brush head 2 via the film hinges.
- An articulated rectangle is formed by the two articulated arms 5, the respective ends of which are connected on the one hand to the brush body 1 and on the other hand to the brush head 2.
- the four-bar linkage is in the illustrated embodiment due to the Y-shaped configuration of the two articulated arms in such a way that the brush head-side hinge points of the four-bar linkage are at a small distance from one another than the brush body-side hinge points.
- the recess formed between the two articulated arms 5 is filled and sealed with a flexible plastic 6, so that the toothbrush also has a completely smooth surface on its neck region 4.
- the toothbrush shown in Fig. 1 is made by means of two-component injection molding.
- the brush body 1, the articulated arms 5 and the brush head 2 are first molded from a first plastic component in a first injection molding step.
- the intermediate product is a one-piece component.
- the articulated arms 5 are integrally connected to the brush body 1 on the one hand and to the brush head 2 on the other hand via the film hinges.
- the bristle filaments 3 can be anchored to the brush head 2 in the first injection molding cycle by means of extrusion coating.
- thickenings are formed on the bristle filaments, preferably at the ends on the usage side, around which the first injection molding component flows and which are anchored in the brush head 2 when the thermoplastic composition cools.
- the recess formed between the articulated arms 5 is filled with a soft, elastic plastic, the elasticity of which is greater than that of the first plastic component.
- the second plastic component is integrally connected to the first plastic component.
- the flexible plastic flows around all plastic hinges and embeds them.
- FIGS. 2a, 2b show a simplified embodiment of the brush according to the invention, in which two articulated arms 5 are provided, which are attached to the brush head 2 on the one hand and the brush body 1 on the other hand in such a way that they span a trapezoid. This simplified toothbrush is - apart from the bristle filaments - made in one piece by injection molding.
- the ends of the bristle filaments 3 on the use side are placed on the gums.
- the toothbrush is then moved in a direction essentially perpendicular to its longitudinal extent according to the arrow E. Because of the static friction between the bristle filaments and the gums or teeth, the brush head 2 initially does not follow this movement. Instead, the brush head 2 is pivoted relative to the brush body 1 (arrow F), this pivoting movement being opposite to the essentially translational movement in the direction of the arrow E. In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 1, this pivoting movement of the brush head 2 relative to the brush body 1 leads to an elastic expansion of the flexible plastic in the neck region 4.
- the above-described pivoting movement of the brush head 2 relative to the brush body 1 causes a rotating cleaning movement of the bristle filaments on the teeth or gums on the use side, which overlaps the translational movement of the toothbrush. This results in an increased cleaning effect, which is particularly desirable at the transition area between the gums and the teeth, in order to prevent, for example, the formation of periodontitis.

Abstract
L'invention concerne une brosse, notamment une brosse à dents comprenant une tête portant des poils, un corps brosse et une zone col située entre la tête et le corps. Dans la zone col, la tête est montée pivotante dans un plan sensiblement à angle droit avec les poils.
