Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif, destiné à être utilisé dans de grands containers de produits inflammables que l'on utilise dans les raffineries et/ou les installations de traitement des hydrocarbures, pour éteindre immédiatement un incendie qui s'est déclaré sur cette superficie. Le dispositif comprend un récipient (1) destiné à renfermer le produit ignifuge, une enveloppe (6) fabriquée dans un matériau non susceptible d'être attaqué par des vapeurs ou des liquides, et une capsule (9) de charge explosive, dont dépassent des mèches (11), que l'on allume pour provoquer l'activation de la charge explosive de la capsule (9) et la dispersion correspondante du produit ignifuge, retardateur de flamme ou agent extincteur, à partir du récipient (1), celui-ci étant constitué de deux disques ou plaques métalliques (2) rendues rigides et mutuellement parallèles au moyen de tiges (3) d'espacement, comportant des coiffes déflectrices et radiales (4), qui permettent, au cours de la dispersion, de pulvériser latéralement le produit ignifuge sur les deux côtés du dispositif, en vue d'une efficacité maximum de la fonction d'extinction d'incendies.
