Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de purifier le jus brut résultant du raffinage du sucre, selon lequel on traite ce jus brut avec de l'hydroxyde de calcium. Ce procédé se caractérise en ce que l'on traite le jus brut avec un mélange constitué d'hydroxyde de calcium et d'un minéral des argiles réfractaires sélectionné dans le groupe des smectites et des kaolins, la proportion d'hydroxyde de calcium dans le mélange étant inférieure à environ 70 % en poids, et en ce que l'on sépare le minéral des argiles réfractaires, avec l'hydroxyde de calcium résiduel et les sels de calcium formés difficilement solubles, du jus léger purifié.
