Abstract

Erfindungsgemäß werden beim Verfahren zur Kanalschätzung in einem Kommunikationssystem Signale bestehend aus einem Datenteil mit Datensymbolen und einer Mittambel mit einer bestimmten Anzahl von bekannten Symbolen über einen Übertragungskanal übertragen. Empfangsseitig werden Kanalkoeffizienten bezüglich einer Kanalimpulsantwort des Übertragungskanals geschätzt, wobei zur Schätzung der Kanalkoeffizienten das von den Mittambeln abhängige empfangene Signal mit aus den bekannten Symbolen der Mittambel abgeleiteten Schätzkoeffizienten durch eine Fouriertransformation gefaltet wird. Die Fouriertransformation wird mit einer beliebigen Anzahl S von Stützstellen durchgeführt, solange S≥2L gilt, wobei L die Länge des auswertbaren Teils der Mittambel ist. Besonders vorteilhaft wird die Erfindung in Mobilfunknetzen der 3. Generation Eingesetzt.
