Abstract

The invention relates to a system for permanently fastening a safety chain or string onto the arm of eyeglasses. The system prevents the string from slipping while allowing the arm to be placed with ease around the contour of the ear. The part (2) is crimped one-thirds of the way along the length of the arm, and is prevented from slipping by a steel cable of 8/10 in diameter, used as a crimp for the part (2) and having a tensile strength of eighteen kilograms. The part consists of a base (2) crimped by a cable onto the arm of the eyeglasses. The crimping is effected with a special multi-purpose clamp. Parts (2 and 4) are independent of one another and are joined by a screw system. The user can therefore change the string or chain as desired, for reasons of style or wear and tear of the string or chain. The system disclosed in the invention is especially intended for use in fastening strings or chains onto the frames of prescription eyeglasses or sunglasses.

Ce système a été créé pour palier aux inconvénients des fixations des chaînes et cordons par un bricolage qui consiste à utiliser un joint torique avec une bague de serrage solidaire de la partie principale qui est le cordon ou la chaîne. Cette fixation comporte deux parties. a) Un câble d'acier inoxydable d'une résistance de 20 kilogrammes qui entoure la branche et sertie par un tube d'acier sous une pression de 120 kilogrammes. La résistance à la traction est de 18 kilogrammes, ce qui empêche tout déplacement du cordon sur la branche, d'où possibilité de placer définitivement le centre de traction à la position idéale et définitive. b) Un support principal tenu sur le bas de la branche par le câble d'acier serti. Cette pièce mécanique de haute précision est le support de la partie femelle qui est solidaire du cordon ou de la chaîne. Ainsi cette pièce est complètement solidaire de la branche et ne peut être détruite par le temps, ce qui n'est pas le cas des anneaux en caoutchouc qui s'auto détruisent sous l'action de la lumière.This fixation has two parts. a) A stainless steel cable with a resistance of 20 kg which surrounds the branch and crimped by a steel tube under a pressure of 120 kg. Claims

1) System for fixing the cords or chains of metal glasses, characterized in that it comprises a support piece (2) definitively crimped to the branch by a cable (1) of indestructible stainless steel, and a piece (4) removable which is fixed by screwing to the part (2). This bell is the support for the cord or chain.

2) System according to claim 1 characterized in that the part (4) can only be an intermediate bell-shaped which will connect to the bell of the chain by an open ring.

3) System according to claims 1 and 2 characterized by the interchangeability of the part (4) allowing the user to put according to his choice a silk cord or a chain without having to change the part (2) permanently set to the branch.
