Abstract

The present invention discloses a security system for monitoring an Automated Teller Machine (ATM 302, 304). The system includes a plurality of cameras (310, 314) at the ATM arranged to capture at least one image of a person initiating a transaction on the ATM. Storage media is located at the ATM for digitally storing images captured by the cameras (310, 314). The system is configured for digitally transferring images to the storage media and to at least one remote location wherein the images are viewable at the remote location. In one aspect, the system provides for random access to and searching of the image data stored at the ATM (302, 304). In another aspect, the information is stored at the ATM in a way which provides for increased searching efficiency.
