Abstract
The object of the invention is a melting unit to melt an entire railway car and other voluminous metallic manufacture contaminated by asbestos. The melting unit is composed by lateral walls (1). The burners (2) are placed on lateral walls, they provide necessary heat for fusion. The floor (3) is inclined to convey fused metal in the gate (4); the fused metal goes in the movable crucible (5), on the floor are arranged bearings (6) to support the railway car (7) or other manufacture. The sliding roof (8) permits the introduction of the manufacture from the top.
Description
Description
A melting unit for voluminous manufacture
Technical Field
My invention relates to melt voluminous metallic manufacture and particularly to melt railway car or other voluminous metallic manufacture contaminated by asbestos.
To scrap railway car or other voluminous metallic manufacture, which are contaminated by asbestos, it indispensable to remove preventively the asbestos which is a cancerous element dangerous for the health of the operators.
After decontamination it is possible to scrap the railway car or other voluminous metallic manufacture to have suitable parts to melt by usual furnace.
Such operation of decontamination produces free asbestos which has to be replaced in waste dump waiting for further thermic destruction treatment.
Background Art
The prior art provided a melting unit capable to receive inside an entire railway car. This specific melting unit is characterized by sliding roof to permit the introduction from the top of the entire voluminous manufacture .
This melting unit simultaneously provides, by high temperature reached, the fusion of the metal and the destruction of the asbestos.
This special melting unit avoids to manipulate the asbestos and provides at same time the scrappage of voluminous manufacture and the destruction of the asbestos.
Disclosure of Invention
In accordance with the present invention I provide a melting unit, capable to receive inside an entire railway car or other voluminous manufacture , having a sliding roof to introduce from the top the voluminous manufacture. The difference between my invention and the previous is that my melting unit doesn't have the bath of fusion inside the furnace.
The vantage resultant is that the construction of melting unit is more easy because the walls of the furnace doesn't have to thrust the buoyancy of fused metal, and then my melting unit needn't sealings surfaces .
Claims
1. A melting unit comprising: An inclined floor to convey continuously the fused metal in one o more gates so that the fused metal doesn't stay inside the furnace to from bath of fusion
2. The melting unit of claim 1 is provided with a sliding roof such a railway car or other voluminous manufacture may be introduced from the top of melting unit.
3. The melting unit of claim 1 or 2 is provided with burners arranged in lateral walls.
4. The melting unit of claim 1 or 2 is provided with a movable crucible to collect the fused metal
