  • Another method for producing dental prosthetic items using metallic dental caps is the so-called Heratec method, in which a sintering technique is used to produce the dental cap. Precious metal paste is applied in layers on a refractory stump and then sintered. The cap is then veneered with ceramic or dental plastic. The process also places special demands on the model stump (fire resistance). It leads to stable dental crowns, but requires quite a lot of effort due to the application technique.

This is not only possible with the usual dental ceramics, but also with dental plastics known for example under the names Charisma and Artglass. It is expedient that the same dental plastic is used to fill and veneer the crown core. It has proven to be advantageous that the crown core is completely surrounded by the dental plastic. This is easy to implement because part of the dental plastic used for the filling emerges from the lower edge of the crown core and can easily be integrally bonded here with the dental plastic used to veneer the crown core.
  • this has the optical advantage that the material (metal) is no longer visible after completion of the dental prosthesis part, on the other hand, the metal no longer comes into contact with the patient, since it is completely enclosed. • crown cores can be connected to one another to produce larger dental prostheses (bridges). It is possible to connect two crown cores directly (e.g. welding, gluing, laser welding, chemical bonding) to form two adjacent teeth. It is also possible to connect two crown cores to one another by means of a connecting part, for example a bridge, in order to bridge a missing tooth (pontic). A tooth made of dental plastic or dental ceramic can be modeled on the connecting part in order to close the gap. The metal of the crown core can be very easily brought into the necessary shape for the production of such larger tooth replacement parts.
