Abstract
The present invention is in the form of a long thin round wire-like metal object approximately 1 mm in diameter, machined to produce peaks and troughs on a section of its surface with a handle on one end. The device is drawn through a pierced ear to remove debris. The debris from the body is captured in the troughs of the device and it is removed from the instrument with a tissue or other cleaning material. The cleaning device would be preferably made from metal, possibly stainless steel, however other metals may be suitable.
Claims
1. An apparatus for cleaning a pierced orifice, where such apparatus comprises a
flexible elongated thin round wire-like object, that has a handle at one end,
peaks and troughs on the surface of its central portion and is tapered at its
other end.
2. An apparatus as claimed in claim 1 wherein the central portion has peaks and
troughs that are angled so as to catch and remove debris when passing through
the pierced orifice.
3. An apparatus as claimed in claim 2 wherein at one end of the apparatus there
is a handle to assist the user during operation.
4. An apparatus as claimed in claim 3 wherein the other end is tapered to guide
the apparatus on entry to the orifice requiring cleaning.
5. An apparatus as claimed in claim 2 wherein the peaks and troughs are angled.
6. An apparatus as claimed in claim 2 wherein the peaks and troughs are
machined onto the device in the form of a helix. -5-
7. An apparatus as claimed in claim 5 wherein the peaks and troughs are at 90° to
the apparatus.
8. An apparatus as claimed in claim 1 where the apparatus is flexible so that it
can be shaped to clean orifices of varying angles
9 An apparatus as claimed in any preceding claim that can be used as a
decoration to the orifice.
10 An apparatus as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the apparatus is made
of any flexible material
11. An apparatus as claimed in claim 9 wherein the apparatus made out of
stainless steel
