Material flows onto the spreader plate through the opening made in the reservoir of the wheel-barrow in accordance with the German publication, but the material to be spread easily becomes packed, nor is this in any way a general purpose system when bearing in mind different materials.

- a small tilt of the reservoir has as such no significance and it may indeed be slightly sloping when at rest.
- the reservoir 1 may even be a rotating component, but from the point of view of use of space the form of a rectangular prism, together with a straight base, provides greater capacity.
- the extension 9 of the shut- off plate 4 is dimensioned for its intended purpose. Its length is advantageously 20 - 100 % of the length of the opening. Its end determines the point of flow, which should be located on the rear part of the spreader plate, on the side determined by the direction of rotation.

Abstract
L'invention concerne un épandeur pour matériau en grains, comprenant un réservoir (1) dans lequel est placé le matériau à épandre, pourvu d'un fond (2) en forme de silo et présentant une ouverture, une plaque de fermeture (4) associée à l'ouverture (3) du fond (2) du réservoir pour permettre un écoulement régulé du matériau par l'ouverture (3), et une plaque d'épandage (6) rotative, située sous le point d'écoulement du matériau et servant à projeter celui-ci sur une large étendue. L'ouverture (3) du fond (2) présente une inclinaison et la plaque de fermeture (4) est montée sur un axe (5) situé dans la zone du bord supérieur de l'ouverture (3), de sorte que ladite plaque de fermeture (4) peut pivoter pour passer d'une position complètement fermée à une position ouverte correspondant à une grandeur d'ouverture désirée. La plaque de fermeture (4) forme un couloir d'écoulement et la plaque d'épandage (6) est montée, de façon excentrique, en face de l'ouverture (3), de sorte que le point d'écoulement se trouve à l'arrière du point central de ladite plaque d'épandage (6) et sur le côté correspondant au sens de rotation.
