Abstract
Description
Verfahren zum abfallfreien Spritzlackieren von zylindrischen Kōrpern. Process for waste-free spray painting of cylindrical bodies.
The invention relates to a method for spray painting cylindrical bodies while avoiding paint loss through overspray and paint aerosols. The method can be applied in particular to rotating cylindrical bodies for their exterior and interior painting. It is particularly suitable for the interior painting of cans that are open on one side. It can be done continuously. The conventional spray painting of open cylindrical hollow bodies, in particular cans, is described, for example, in US Pat. No. 4,246,300. Here, the inside is sprayed out individually with a spray varnish using the cycle method, can by can. In order to provide complete and reliable corrosion protection, the paint spray jet is drawn 5 - 15% of its width beyond the edge of the rotating can. This lacκsμritz jet, known in technical jargon as overspray, must be led out of the can spraying machine and disposed of. In the case of the exterior painting of cylindrical hollow bodies, such as the exterior painting of drums, a spray jet is guided in such a way that it protrudes over the rotating objects to be painted, whereby overspray is also formed. The formation of overspray leads to losses of paint material, as well as elaborate disposal measures to exclude environmental pollution as far as possible.
The object of the invention is to provide a method in which this paint loss during spray painting is prevented and disposal measures and environmental damage are avoided.
This object is achieved by the method forming a subject of the invention for spray painting the inner and / or outer surfaces of rotating cylindrical objects, which is characterized in that the result of the painting of an object to be painted the overspray is almost completely absorbed by at least one further object to be painted. The method according to the invention is particularly suitable for spray painting with fan-shaped guidance of the spray jet, which can be done, for example, by using conventional slot nozzles.
Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren kann bevorzugt kontunuierlich zur Spritzlackierung der Innen- und/oder Außenflächen mehrerer zylinderförmigerThe method according to the invention can preferably be used continuously for spray painting the inner and / or outer surfaces of a plurality of cylindrical ones
Objects are carried out. In general, the overspray formed during the painting of a first article and the aerosols formed from the paint are generally absorbed by a second article to be painted.
The method according to the invention can be applied, for example, to the exterior painting of rotating cylindrical hollow bodies, such as cans and, in particular, barrels. At least two objects to be painted are guided next to each other at the smallest possible distance so that the small body gap during the painting of the first item and overspray and paint aerosols are absorbed by a second item.
If, for example, drums are subjected to an external coating in this way, the proportion of overspray, which in conventional methods is up to 40% by weight of the coating material used, can be greatly reduced.
The method according to the invention is also particularly suitable for the interior painting of cylindrical hollow bodies which are open on one side. These are in particular cans, for example conventional food and beverage cans. The cylindrical hollow bodies are therefore generally referred to in the following as cans. In the interior painting of cylindrical hollow bodies closed on one side, in particular cans, the procedure is preferably such that at least two cans during their contact with the (in particular fan-shaped) spray jet with their open ends are inclined so that they overlap without contact. For example, the angle of inclination of two cans to be painted one after the other is 5 to 60 °, based on their axes of rotation.
By this procedure, at least two cylindrical hollow bodies (e.g. cans) to be subjected to an interior painting are brought together so that a loss-free transition is formed at their opening edges for the paint spray jet. The required overspray spray jet from a previous can is applied without loss as a pre-coating in the next can.
With this method of working it is possible to paint several cans continuously one after the other. Continuous can transitions can be formed, the spray jet and the can flow can take place continuously.
In the embodiment in which two cans or cylindrical hollow bodies are inclined relative to one another, it is advantageous to offset the height of the hollow bodies relative to one another, so that if the openings are inclined relative to one another, an overlap of the openings is possible without material contact. When painting cans, in particular food and usual beverage cans, it is preferred to offset the cans in height by 0.5 to 40 mm. The overlap of the can openings is preferably also 0.5 to 40 mm. With the usual beverage cans of 0.33 1 content, the height shift and the overlap are each preferably 0.5 to 10 mm. The process according to the invention not only prevents the loss of paint from overspray, but also reduces the mechanical and electronic complexity of conventional spray painting, for example can spray painting. In the method according to the invention, it is possible to use conventional automatic spray guns, for example automatic spray guns, which can be easily converted to the method according to the invention. This allows the Painting by the share of the previous paint loss cost-effectively while doubling the production speed and halving the maintenance effort.
The attached Figures 1, 2 and 3 represent preferred embodiments of the invention.
1 shows the overlap or the bridging of two cans for the loss-free transition of a paint spray jet A, and the contact-free rotation of both can bodies B1 and B2. In this embodiment, the cans are staggered in height. The Bl can is higher than the B2 can, which enables contact-free overlap of the can openings when inclined by the angle alpha. Alpha represents the angle of inclination of the cans B1 and B2 against each other; it relates to their axes of rotation C. In the embodiment shown, the cans B1 and B2 are held at their closed ends by rotatable holding devices D1 and D2, for example magnetic brackets, and guided past the spray jet A. Of course, it is also possible to guide the spray jet A past the cans.
Fig. 2 zeigt die sich überlappenden offenen Enden der Dosen B1 und B2 vom Spritzstrahl A her gesehen. Fig. 2 shows the overlapping open ends of the cans B1 and B2 seen from the spray jet A. This is shown in a fan shape in FIG. 2. It can be seen that it acts on both bodies to be painted simultaneously, without an overspray loss E.
Fig. 3 shows an embodiment in which several cans B, which are held at their closed end by a rotatable holder and are guided over an inner circular path F, so as to enable a continuous flow of material from cans and paint. The cans on the inner circular path are continuously inclined towards one another at an angle beta, which is preferably 10 to 200 °. The spray jet A can be guided continuously over at least two cans so that there is no loss of overspray.
