Abstract
A pedal box has a shell made in two halves which is hinged. This enables the pedal box to be slid under the pedals in a vehicle and then closed. Encasing a number of the pedals inside the pedal box. Any pedal which is not encased is covered by a cover plate (5). The locking-pin (7) protrudes from the front of the box allowing a locking assemble to be fitted. Once the pedal box is fitted and located, the vehicle pedals can no longer be used.
Description
This invention relates to a P E D A L " B O X
Vehicle pedal's (clutch, brake, accelerator) are a key part of the driving or moving of a vehicle. The vehicle pedal assemble locking device allows the user to fit the device around the vehicles' pedals when not in use and to lock the device by means of a locking assemble.
Once locked, the pedal's are enclosed, or covered, by the device, not allowing their use until the device has been removed.
According to the present invention there is provided a pedal assemble locking device, comprising a steel box hinged along one edge, a locking mechanism, a steel covering plate (for pedal's not incorporated in box) a reinforcing and restricting bar, a pedal locating bar.
A special embodiment of the invention will now be described, by way of example, with reference to the accompamying drawings in which: -

Fig.l: Referring to the drawing, the box comprises a steel shell hinged along one side. There are slots cut into the edge of the top plate to allow the pedals to enter the box. A steel pin protrudes the front face of the box where a locking assemble is fitted. A reinforcing movement restriction bar runs along the top of the box, which covers the slots. A side plate covers the accelerator pedal.

Above this, and fitted to the top edge of the back plate is a steel locating section which has slots cut into it, this fits around the pedal stems and holds the box tight in place (on some models it is possible to have interchangeable pieces of locating section which are bolted to the back plate of the box - see drawing figure 5 (five) this allows the box to be used on different models of vehicle).
The front and top half of the box are made longer. than the back and bottom sections. This allows the top half to pass over the bottom section leaving no gap between the two halves.
There are slots cut into the top plate along the back edge. These sit around the pedal stem when the box is closed, they align with the slots in the steel locating section which is connected to the back plate.
Fitted to the top of the box is a movement restriction bar which runs the full length of the box, this has slots cut into it the same as the slot on the top plate. This section is fixed so that the pedals pass diagonally through it. It's purpose is to reinforce the top of the box and restrict movement of the box when in position and locked around the pedals.
To the right side of the box is fitted a pre-for ed section of steel, this is fitted to the top part of the box parellel to the diagonal edge of the side plate. When locked this plate covers the accelerator pedal so that access is blocked.

The slotted locating section No.11 (eleven) has holes drilled through it allowing bolts to pass through, this allows different slotted locating sections to be fitted to the same box, allowing the box to be used on different vehicles.

Claims
A pedal box comprising, a steel case, with slots cut into the rear of top plate, movement restriction bar, slotted location section, locking pin for locking assemble, hinges and side cover plate.
2. A pedal box as claimed in Claim 1 - wherein a tubular collar is fitted over locking-pin to restrict access to pin on the side of box.
3. A pedal box as claimed in Claim 1 - or - Claim 2 wherein a changeable slotted location section is provided which is bolted through the back plate of the Box.
4. A pedal box as claimed in Claim 1 - or - Claim 2 - or -
Claim 3. Wherein a reinforcing bar is fitted to the back plate of the box for the locking-pin to be connected.
