Definitions

  • the invention relates to a reusable container with a closure unit, wherein the reusable container consists of a first material and the closure unit consists of a second recyclable material and the reusable container has an opening.
  • containers with closure units as they are known today can be divided into two groups, for example, as follows with regard to their technical characteristics.
  • a first group includes, for example, containers with closure units, both of which are made of the same or similar materials. These include, for example, plastic containers which are provided with a plastic closure. The container and closure are manufactured separately and put together before or after filling a flowable product into the container. The closure can always remain connected to the container or can be separated from the container after opening. If the container is no longer used, it is disposed of together with the closure, or each part individually, or sent for recycling.
  • containers for edible oils, vinegar, syrup, etc. which have a screw cap with a loose lid or which may also have a two-part lid, the lid having an elastic bridge remains connected to the other part of the lock. Two-part, foldable closures are also known in this group.
  • the opening cannot simply be made larger because the closure can then be deformed to such an extent that it no longer closes tightly.
  • the stiffness necessary for the locking unit must be given here by the design of the locking unit itself. For this, the recycling or disposal of the material from which the container and closure unit are made is very simple and complete.
  • Containers in this group are also known which have an opening with a relatively large diameter. In this case, however, the cover is always removable, for example unscrewable, and the opening is stiffened by the thread.
  • a second group comprises containers with closure units, in which the container and closure unit consist of very different materials, both of which can be recycled separately, that is to say separately from one another.
  • the recycling of the materials no longer necessarily takes place in that the container with the Closure is melted, but the container can possibly be reused even after mere cleaning.
  • reusable containers are preferably made of glass or metal and the closure unit usually consists of plastic.
  • Such containers are used because one wants to use a certain material for various reasons.
  • the containers are not or only very slightly elastically deformable and their opening is therefore stiff or non-deformable in comparison to the closure unit.
  • the closure units which are used for these containers are often made of plastic and are usually very light and consist of a single deformable part which is not firmly connected to the container. This is possible because of the rigidity of the container and, in particular, its opening, and nevertheless results in tightly closing closures, because the opening is undeformable and the elastic closure lies tightly against it.
  • Examples of such containers and closures are mineral water bottles made of glass, which have a screw cap made of plastic, and glasses for yoghurt or cream, which have a removable plastic lid with a snap closure.
  • Oil containers made of sheet metal are also known which have a two-part closure made of plastic, in which both parts remain elastically connected to the container in several directions. If screw closures are provided, the screwable part of the closure is never firmly connected to the container. The same applies to any snap locks.
  • the reason why such combinations are selected is primarily that the container can be completely disposed of together with the closure. However, this can mean both recycling of the material and, above all, problem-free and complete combustion of the container with the closure. With the usual Heine diameters of the openings, the freedom of design for the closure is relatively large.

  • Closure unit gives great freedom in terms of shape, size of the opening, etc. Since both closure parts are always connected to one another and consist of similar materials, they can be produced in a multi-material spraying technique, which opens up enormous design options. For example, they can be made easily stackable or can be adapted to certain properties of a processing machine. Properties can also be provided that are advantageous for the user. Due to the arrangement of a hinge, the locking unit is always asymmetrical. This means that this asymmetry can be pushed further and can go so far that an absolutely original design is created. The invention thus opens up a wide field for the design of such container-closure combinations, which always leads to completely reusable combinations.
