  • the polyurethane tread provides increased resistance to oil, chemicals, ageing; and cutting, tearing or penetration by stones or other objects, relative to a conventional rubber tread. Traction and/or skid properties can be enhanced in the tread by a siping process subsequent to manufacture of the tread.
  • rubber crumb may be added to the polyurethane to enhance the grip and/or skid properties of the tread, and other materials may be added as is appropriate.
  • the above tyre permits conventional tyre manufacturing machinery and techniques to be used thereby not incurring extra costs.

Abstract

Pneu comprenant un corps en matériau et en caoutchouc pouvant avoir été précédemment utilisé, ainsi qu'une chape en polyuréthane soudée audit corps. Le corps et la chape sont soudés en intercalant entre eux une bande en caoutchouc naturel et en appliquant de la chaleur et de la pression, afin de vulcaniser la bande en caoutchouc, de façon à constituer une soudure.
