Abstract

The invention concerns a process for manufacturing an elastic rubber universal joint mounted between the flanges of two shafts with a common axis. A rubber universal joint of this type has at least three rigid sleeves mounted concentrically for the attachment on each of the two shaft flanges and has several other rigid parts, for example stop disks. The sleeves are connected to each other by elastic means. Both the sleeves and the elastic means connecting them are embedded in an elastomeric material. The elastic rubber universal joint is manufactured by direct combination as follows. First a plastic skeleton incorporating the sleeves and the several other rigid parts is made by an injection moulding device. Rubber is then injected around the plastic skeleton.
