Abstract
Bidet operations on a conventional w.c. (1) of any type carried out by means of a mixer faucet (3) with swivel spout (4), located on the upper horizontal surface of the w.c. rear (2), completely out of the bowl, delivering running water into the bowl through proper swivel spout (4) orientation, being the toilet seat (5) and cover (6) shaped in such a way as not to interfere with the faucetry during their rotating movements and to make it accessible and utilizable for personal washing purpose as described.

Water Closets operating also as Bidets
Technical Field
The invention relates to the sanitation unit w.c. and particulrly to the w.c. operating also as bidet.
In this field it is very essential that hygienic conditions be stricly observed avoiding any possible contamination of the water used for bidet purpose. Therefore the problem is to provide a sanitation unit wc-bidet permitting both
functions without impairing their operations and safeguarding the hygienic conditions.
Background Art
The prior art provided for the supply of running water delivered from the flush ring at the upper edge of the bowl, or from holes made on said ring, or by means of a sprinkling nozzle, fixed or retractable, positioned into the bowl.
Such solutions are not hygienic since the bowl interior is contaminated or contaminable in each point and thence water coming from the bowl interior could be contaminated.
Disclosure of Invention
A conventional w.c. of any type is provided with a running water delivering swivel spout, housed into the upper horizontal surface of the wc rear. The swivel spout can be an integral part of a mixer faucet, or be connected to a mixer faucet located on the adjoining bathroom wall or to an existing faucet located at easy reach in the bathroom area.
When the unit is not used or during the use of it as wc, the swivel spout is positioned in a direction parallel to the wc rear edge without impairing at all the relevant operations. During the use of the unit as bidet", the swivel spout is rotated and positioned with its nozzle projecting in the bowl area where it can deliver the running water needed,permitting a normal course of the bidet operations At the end of bidet use the swivel spout is turned back to its initial position.
All the operations are very simple and
hygienic conditions completely fulfilled.
The running water goes directely from an external source to the part of the body concerned or to the user hand.
Clearly the existing toilet seats and covers cannot be used, as the cover when opened will lie on the faucetry making the use of it impossible.
Consequently another feature of the present
invention concern the improvement of toilet seats and covers in order to permit the working out of
the bidet operations as described..
One form of improvement is that the seat,, on wich the cover is hinged, has its own two lateral bands back extended and hinged in their extremity on the wc in such a point that the measure of the extention is bigger than the height of the faucetry so that the seat, together with the cover, during its opening rotation movement get over the faucetry making it accessible and usable as described.
Another form of improvement is that both, seat and cover, have their own two lateral bands back extended and hinged in such a common point that the measure of the extentions are bigger than the height of the faucetry so that the seat and the cover, together or indipendently, during their opening rotation movements gets over the fauxretry.
In the first form of improvement bidet use should be done sitting directly on the fitting, while in the second form of improvement bidet use could be done at choice, sitting directely on the fitting or on the toilet seat.
Further form of improvement, the best mode, is that the cover has an openable part obtained by a proper panel (sliding, hinged, accordion type etc.) the opening of wich, when the cover is turned over, make possible an easy access to the faucetry located on the wc and/or on the adjoining bathroom wall.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
The invention is capable of many embodiments and of being carried out in various ways.
Description in detail will be made of the preferred form of embodiment, the best mode for carrying out the invention.
The sanitation unit comprises a wc (1) and a running water delivering swivel spout (4) on the top of the wc rear (2). The wc may be of any
conventional type, for instance in our case it is a suction siphon bowl with vertical outlet flushed by any conventional flushing system, in our case by a high level cistern.
The running water delivering swivel spout may be an integral part of a faucet, as shown best in FIG.1, or be connected to a faucet located at easy reach elsewhere in the bathroom area, as shown best in FIG.2, for instance in our case it is an integral part of the faucet and precisely a single lever mixer with swivel spout.
The extended upper horizontal surface (2) of the wc rear is of a such a measure as to permit the housing on it of the mixer faucet (3) with swivel spout (4) behind the conventional holes for the fixation of the toilet seat and cover. The proper hole to house the faucet (3) should be made on the left or on the right side of the wc rear as its central part is already engaged by the flushing water passageway (9) to the bowl, as shown best in FIG.15, for instance in our case is made on the right side.
The mixer faucet inserted into the hole and fixed on it is connected with the cold and hot lines of the water installation by means of the hose pipes (10) and (11), as shown best in FIG.1 and FIG.15.
When the unit is not used, as shown in
FIG.11, and during the use of it as wc, FIG.12, or
as urinal, FIG.13, the swivel spout is positioned in a direction parallel to the wc edge.
The swivel spout lenght is such that rotating it, during the unit use as bidet, may position its nozzle into the boxl area, as shown best in
FIG.l, FIG.13, and FIG.15, where by faucet
regulation it may deliver the mixed water for bidet use, at wich end it may be turned back to its initial position.
Referring now to the toilet seat (5) and cover (6) it will be noted that the seat is a conventional one. Positioned above the toilet seat (5) is the cover (6), both of wich have their respective hinges (8) and (7) supported by a common hinge post inserted into the pertinent unit holes located in front: of the mixer faucet as previously mentioned.
One of the feature of the present invention is the shaping and operation of the toilet cover (6). It has an U shape with the two arms extending towards the unit rear where they are hinged.
As can be seen in FIG.11 and FIG.12 a panel (12) is inserted in the space between the arms.
Such panel is sliding on the cover (6), as shown in FIG.13 and FIG.15, making possible the access to and the use of the swivel spout (4) and of the mixer faucet (3) as described.
As shown best in FIG.16 the panel (12) is
sliding along the rails (13) made on the cover (6) structure and is hold up in the opened position by a stop device made by two small metallic plates (14), one of wich magnetized, placed on the panel (12) and on the cover (6) respectively, as shown.
Claims
1. Water closets of any conventional type operating also as bidets, characterized by a running water delivering swivel spout located on the upper horizontal surface of the w.c. rear, completely out of the bowl area, said swivel spout of such a lenght so that with a rotating movement, during the use of the unit as bidet, its own nozzle can be placed over the bowl area where it can deliver the running water required for personal washing purposes and can be brought back to the initial position at the end of the washing operations, said swivel spout being an integral part of a mixer faucet or
connected to a mixer faucet located on the adjoining bathroom wall or elsewhere.
2. Toilet seats and covers of any conventional type characterized so that the seat, on wich the cover is hinged, has its own two lateral bands back extended and hinged in their extremity on the w.c. in such a point that the measure of the extention is bigger than the height of the faucetry located behind the seat and the cover on the upper
horizontal area of the w.c. rear or on the adjoining bathroom wall, so that the seat, together with the cover, during its opening rotation movement get over the faucetry making it accessible and utilizable for personal washing operations.
3. Toilet seats and covers of any conventional type, characterized so that the seat and the cover have their own respective two lateral bands back extended and both hinged in their extremity on the w.c. in such a common point that the measure of the extention is bigger than the height of a faucetry located behind the seat and the cover on the upper horizontal area of the w.c. rear, or on the adjoining bathroom wall, so that the seat and the cover during their respective rotation movement get over the faucetry making it accessible and utilizable for personal washing operations.
4. Toilet seats and covers of any conventional type, both supported on common conventional hinge posts, characterized so that the cover has an openable part obtained by a proper panel (sliding, hinged, accordion type etc. supported by the cover structure) the opening of wich, when the cover is turned over, make possible the access to a faucetry located behind the seat and the cover on the upper horizontal area of the w.c. rear, or on the
adjoining bathroom wall, and its use for personal washing operations.
5. Sanitation unit characterized by a wc-bidet as defined in claim 1 and by a toilet seat and cover as defined in claim 2.
6. Sanitation unit characterized by a wc-bidet as defined in claim 1 and by a toilet seat and cover as defined in claim 3.
7. Sanitation unit characterized by a wc-bidet as defined in claim 1 and by a toilet seat and cover as defined in claim 4.
