Abstract

De la matière organique, en particulier du bois et des parties de plantes lignifiées, est fortement écrasée, défibrée, chauffée et physiquement pulpée dans une extrudeuse thermique (6), tout en subissant simultanément une imprégnation de substances de traitement préalablement ajoutées. La matière ainsi préparée a l'aspect de la tourbe et possède les caractéristiques physiques, chimiques et biologiques optimales pour être utilisée comme succédané de la tourbe et composant de substrat. Elle peut parfaitement être utilisée, par exemple, comme additif pour améliorer physiquement des tourbes fortement décomposées et pour étirer et mieux aérer de la tourbe ou des substrats de culture fabriqués à base de tourbe. Si on lui inocule des champignons ou des microorganismes appropriés, on peut l'utiliser de façon remarquable pour la mycorrhization de plantes mycotrophiques et comme additif dans la fabrication de composts de haute qualité.
