Abstract
Description
Mittel, insbesondere zur Brandbekämpfung und Imprägnierung . Agents, in particular for fire fighting and impregnation.
The invention relates to an agent, in particular for fire fighting and impregnation, consisting of an aqueous solution which has one or more nonionic surfactants in a concentration of 0.02 to 0.2 percent by volume, and a method for the production thereof.
Fire fighting solutions of this type are known (DE-0S 31 00 158). In this case, be used as a boundary-active agents are primarily those that are obtainable by condensation of ethylene oxide or propylene oxide with various substances and in particular with phenoll o ¬ rule compounds having a side chain. Combinations of one or more nonionic surface-active agents are selected in order to achieve water solubility within a 20-100 ° C. cloud point range in order to produce the smallest possible amount of foam. In contrast, the object of the invention is to create a finely sprayable mixture of substances with a high impregnation capacity which at the same time is readily biodegradable and non-toxic. This object is achieved in that alkylarylsulfonate is used as the surfactant.
Until now, alkylarylsulfonates (R-Ar-S0 3 -Me) were mainly known as raw materials for synthetic detergents. They have good evolving, degreasing and wetting properties as well as a high chemical resistance. Because of their generally unbranched compounds, they are readily biodegradable. Their toxicity to fish is based solely on the fact that they significantly lower the surface tension of the water.
The agent or substance mixture according to the invention can be used advantageously in particular for fire extinguishing or prevention, since the distribution of the individual drops of extinguishing agent at the spray nozzle of the extinguishing device becomes much finer due to the substantial reduction in the surface tension due to alkylarylsulfonate. At the same time, the surface of the extinguishing agent to be sprayed
By adding alkylarylsulfonate as a wetting agent to the extinguishing agent, fire-extinguishing substances such as straw, hay, bales of wool, finished textiles, powders, etc., which often have a complicated structured surface, are wetted, so to speak, thoroughly "soaked", so to speak. This leads to a considerable easing and acceleration of the deletion.
In order to prevent the precipitation of inert substances, according to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention in the extinguishing agent, a slightly acidic environment with a pH of 6.5 is built up. For this purpose, 30% acetic acid (CH-C00H) in a concentration of 0.2 percent by volume is mixed with two percent by volume of distilled water to form a solution. This buffer solution also reduces the risk of foam formation, which is unavoidable when tensides are added.
In der Praxis konnte bei einer solchen In order to further reduce the risk of foam formation, the proportion of alkylarylsulfonate in the extinguishing agent is limited to about 0.09 percent by volume. In practice, such
Concentration of this surfactant, the surface tension can be reduced by approx. 60%, without precipitation of the inert substances occurring even after a long standing time (e.g. 3 weeks).
According to a further embodiment of the invention, an aqueous solution with alkali metal citrate and / or sulfates up to the saturation concentration is used as the extinguishing agent. This solution is colorless, clear, neutral smelling and viscous. With alkali metal citrate, a prophylactic impregnation of the fire environment and / or a general impregnation of various, easily flammable materials can be achieved, which thereby become largely fire-resistant. The impregnation effect is then further optimized by adding or combining with alkylarylsulfonate.
Another basic requirement for fire extinguishing agents is the protection against freezing at temperatures down to at least -30 ° C. Since the extinguishing agent consisting essentially of aluminum metal citrate has a high degree of saturation due to the concentrated solution of aliphatic salts, it is inherently frost-resistant down to -15 ° C. According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention
Stoffge isch 1,2-ethanediol added. Since a solution of a part of water and a part of 1,2-ethanediol only freezes at -40 ° C, and in practical use the free water molecules in the aqueous solution with alkali metal citrate with 1,2-ethanediol also in a ratio of 1: 1 are mixed, the agent according to the invention guarantees security against freezing in any case down to -30 ° C. Additional advantages from the use of 1,2-ethanediol as anti-freeze result from its cost-effectiveness, relative environmental compatibility and the avoidance of immediate oversaturation of the mixture of substances according to the invention.
As a result, the use of the agent according to the invention in firefighting leads to a reduction in the extinguishing agent requirement, a widening of the spray mist and a densification of the spray curtain when it emerges from the spray nozzle of the extinguishing device, which enables it in particular to fight class A and B fires . Due to the increased impregnation depth in the case of porous substances, the agent according to the invention can in particular contain fires with a strong formation of embers.
With regard to further designs and advantages of the invention, reference is made to the subclaims.
The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of an exemplary recipe.
