Abstract
Description
GRIL A UTILISATION UNIQUE SINGLE USE GRILL
The present invention relates to a disposable grill comprising a thermal insulation tank, a foldable support, a combustible charge and ignition means arranged in said tank, as well as an upper grid made integral with this tank.
The fashion for grilled meats on a garden grill and charcoals made inside a home has grown considerably in recent years. Very sophisticated garden grills mounted permanently or attached to a carriage have been developed. One of the problems which has not, however, been satisfactorily resolved is that of igniting charcoal. It is essential to have a good ember to make a satisfactory grilling. However, charcoal hardly ignites. Many accidents have occurred following the use of methylated spirits or other highly flammable volatile substances to facilitate the ignition of charcoal. To overcome these drawbacks, various easily flammable products have been developed, but which do not give off flammable or explosive vapors, to promote and accelerate the beginnings of the combustion of charcoal. Among these products, there is in particular a gel containing alcohol, the combustion of which is generally sufficient to start that of charcoal.
Note, however, that the preparation of a charcoal ember, suitable for grilling, requires relatively long and careful preparation. Charcoal should be put in place, which is often a messy operation because of the dust mixed with the pieces of charcoal contained in the bags commonly sold, to set up flammable substances and to monitor the development of combus¬ tion to avoid overly localized ember formation and obtain good spreading of the latter.
In addition, the known grills generally constitute a relatively bulky object which is in fact only used for a period relatively short of the year and must then be cleaned, preserved from humidity to avoid oxidation always troublesome and always stored for most of the year.
We can overcome the different disadvantages above thanks to the realization of a disposable grill as mentioned above provided with both a combustible charge and ignition means which present no danger to the user. -
To achieve the desired goals, the grill according to the invention is characterized in that the fuel charge is located between the upper grill and a member for protecting the ignition means, provided with perforations, and placed inside the pan, and in that the ignition means are arranged between the bottom of said tank and this protection member.
According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the ignition means comprise at least one combustible pocket in the form of a rod extending over at least part of the length of the tank and containing an easily flammable substance, this pocket being associated with at least one ignition wick consisting of a highly flammable strip extending over the entire length of the pocket.
According to a preferred embodiment, the highly flammable strip is made of a material based on cellulose nitrate.
The highly flammable strip is advantageously fixed longitudinally on the outer surface of the fuel bag containing the easily flammable substance. This highly flammable strip is preferably made integral with the combustible pocket by gluing or welding.
According to an advantageous embodiment, the protective member is constituted by a lower grid.
To ensure good protection of the ignition means, this lower grid is preferably folded over two of its opposite sides to form two flanges substantially perpendicular to its plane, these flanges having a height at least equal to the thickness of said combustible pocket.
To prevent the combustible charge, advantageously made of charcoal, from passing through the lower grid, the latter preferably has meshes whose dimensions are smaller than those of the pieces of charcoal.
So that the assembly is particularly light and can be produced economically, the thermal insulation tank is preferably constituted by an aluminum tray.
According to a preferred embodiment, the foldable support consists of two metal wire elements folded into a U and two arches arranged to connect together in pairs the free ends of the lateral branches of the elements folded into a U, and four plastic parts arranged to ensure the connection of the folded U-shaped elements and said arches.
The hoops are preferably elastic to allow the support to fold flat in its rest position and to ensure lateral clamping of the tray when it is in the working position.
La présente invention - sera mieux comprise en référence à la description d'un exemple de réalisation et des dessins annexés dans lesquels :The present invention will be better understood with reference to the description of an exemplary embodiment and the accompanying drawings in which:

La figure 2 représente une vue partielle en coupe longitudinale du gril de la figure 1 ,FIG. 2 represents a partial view in longitudinal section of the grill of FIG. 1,
La figure 3 représente une vue en coupe transversale du gril selon la figure l, le bac d'isolation thermique étant déposé sur son support, La figure -4 représente une vue schématique de dimension réduite du gril selon l'invention,FIG. 3 represents a cross-sectional view of the grill according to FIG. 1, the thermal insulation tank being deposited on its support, FIG. -4 represents a schematic view of reduced size of the grill according to the invention,
La figure 5 représente une vue partielle en perspective illustrant un mode de réalisation particulier des moyens d'allumage du gril selon l'invention, etFIG. 5 represents a partial perspective view illustrating a particular embodiment of the means for lighting the grill according to the invention, and
Referring to Figures 1 to 3, the grill 10 as shown essentially comprises a thermal insulation tank advantageously constituted by a tray 11 made of aluminum formed by stamping and provided with a flange 12 folded to maintain an upper grid 13 for example made by means of a grid of welded wires.
These ignition means advantageously comprise at least one combustible pocket 16 in the form of a rod extending at least over part of the length of the container and containing an easily flammable substance. A combustible charge 17 preferably composed of pieces of charcoal, is interpo¬ ed between the upper grid 13 and the lower grid 14. The ignition means partially composed of the fuel bag 15 containing a gel containing a flammable and volatile substance such as for example alcohol, are supplemented by a strip 18 of a highly flammable substance which is glued, welded or simply placed longitudinally on the bag 16, so that its two ends protrude at two opposite ends of the tray to form two ignition wicks 19. This strip of highly flammable material is preferably a cellulose nitrate marketed under the name "celluloid" or "nitrofilm".
However, this material has the disadvantage of forming, after combustion, a gangue preventing the spread of the gel flame containing alcohol, so that the desired effect is achieved only if one causes an axial tear of the bag 16 to release the substance it contains. This effect is achieved in the two cases illustrated by FIGS. 5 and 6 which illustrate a pocket 16a and 16b with which two bands 18a and 18b " of highly flammable cellulose nitrate are associated. In the example illustrated by FIG. 5, the band of cellulose nitrate is bonded laterally along the pocket 16a In the example illustrated in FIG. 6, the strip of cellulose nitrate is bonded or welded to the upper face of the pocket 16.
As shown more particularly in Figures 3 and 4, the support 20 consists of two elements 21 folded in a U shape and two elastic arches 22. Each of the arches is coupled via pieces 23 of synthetic material with free ends branches of the elements 21. Thanks to the elasticity of the arches 22, the longitudinal segments of the elements 21 exert a lateral pinching stress on the tray, when the support is in the working position, as shown in the figures. In the rest position, the elasticity of the arches tends to bring them into a rectilinear position, so that the support adopts a flat position which facilitates the packaging and storage of the grill-support assembly.
Fig. 3 also shows the lower grid 14, the lateral edges of which are folded back to form ledges 24 whose height is at least equal to the thickness of the pocket 16, to ensure effective protection of the ignition means.
The present invention is not limited to the embodiments described but can undergo various modifications obvious to a person skilled in the art.
